The End Of The World- Part 1

"Right then, Rose Tyler, you tell me. Where do you want to go? Backwards or forwards in time. It's your choice. What's it going to be?"

The Historian walked down the staircase in the TARDIS, hearing the pair talk in its golden centre.

"Forwards." She beamed.

"How far?"

"One hundred years."

A second later, the TARDIS stopped whirling. "There you go. Step outside those doors, it's the twenty second century."

" You're kidding."

Thr Historian leant against the railing of the stairs and shook her head. "2105 is a boring year Rose. How about a little further?"

Rose turned to her and grinned slightly. " Fine by me."

The Historian nudged the Doctor out of the way and began to pilot the TARDIS. The Doctor frowned at her but let her continue anyway. "Ten thousand years into your future. Step outside, it's the year 12005, the new Roman Empire."

" You think you're both so impressive." She laughed.

"I am so impressive." The Doctor replied.

"You wish." Rose and the Historian smirked.

The Doctor nudged the Historian out of the way and fiddled with thr controls. "Right then, you asked for it. I know exactly where to go. Hold on!"

The Historian stumblednover to the controls and looked at the coordinates. "Where are we? What's out there?" Rose asked, excited and rather scared.

The Historian grinned and grabbed hold of Rose's hand, pulling her outside. The pair ran down a flight of stairs, seeing a long shutter along a window, which fell to reveal the Earth down below.

The Doctor followed and stood behind them. "You lot, you spend all your time thinking about dying, like you're going to get killed by eggs or beef or global warming or asteroids. But you never take time to imagine the impossible, that maybe you survive. This is the year five point five slash apple slash twenty six. Five billion years in your future, and this is the day..."

He looked to his watch as the sun began to glow red. "This is the day the Sun expands. Welcome to the end of the world."

The Historian looked out at the vast emptiness, forgetting how big it was... and for a brief moment, she turned to look for Henry's reaction...

"Shuttles five and six now docking. Guests are reminded that Platform One forbids the use of weapons, teleportation and religion. Earth Death is scheduled for fifteen thirty nine. Followed by drinks in the Manchester Suite."

The Historian, The Doctor and Rose walked along a corridor together, and Rose turned to them with a small frown. "So, when it says guests, does that mean people?"

"Depends what you mean by people." The Doctor said as the Historian put her hands in her pockets.

" I mean people. What do you mean?"

"Aliens."

She sighed and asked "What are they doing on board this spaceship? What's it all for?"

The Historian took her screwdriver from her pocket as she found the wall Pamela they were searching for. "It's not really a spaceship, more like an observation deck. The great and the good are gathering to watch the planet burn."

"What for?" She asked.

"Fun." The timelords shrugged.

The doors opened and she slid her sonic away. Inside was an observation platform. Rose peeked inside and stared with wide eyes. "Mind you, when I said the great and the good, what I mean is, the rich."
