Timelords had no need for sleep. In fact, most didnt enjoy it. The Historian found herself avoiding sleep constantly as it reminded her too much of the past. Every time she slept, she dreamt yo something she thought she'd forgotten... or at least tried to.

When the Doctor, Rose and her returned to the TARDIS after eating chips in London, she decided to retire to her room, with no intention to sleep as she wrote in her journal about their latest adventure, but it just sort of happened. She had slumped down into the chair, face on her arms as she deampt of a time long forgotten...

Bright blue eyes shone through the waves and whispy blonde hair. The blonde was taller than most children her age, and she had been brought to the Academy by her father for her first day.

"Zara, you'll be assigned your second name here." Hector Kelpa, her father told her. He worked for the High Council, not high up or anything, he was just an engineer they relied on to work for them, and her mother taught Chemistry at the Academy. They had a model marriage, two children who were smarter than what was good for them. The eldest child, Gaia Beta, was nearly 16 and one of the top in her class at the academy. Zara was very bright, but not amazingly friendly... unlike her sister.

The grand doors opened and she, along with hundreds of other young children walking inside the academy. She found herself between two boys. One had messy dark brown hair and brown eyes who looked as thought he constantly had his face inside a book, and the other was tall, and had short, dark blonde hair.

"This place is so strange." The blonde boy whispered as a tall man stood ahead of them.

"Its huge." Zara whispered back.

"Welcome to the Academy. Gallirey is happy to welcome you. Here you will learn what it means to be a Timelord."

Zara looked around the large room, being shown different areas of the Academy, where they would study, what they would learn... and how they would learn it. It was in that moment she knew she wanted to be there forever. She never wanted to leave.

The blonde boy headed towards Zara once they were aloud outside. Their day of exploring was soon to be over, and now they were all getting some fresh air. She had watched the twin suns setting over the hillsides in the distance. "Hello." He grinned. "I'm Koschei. This is Theta."

She looked between the two boys, the blonde had his hand out to her. "Zara." She grinned as she shook his hand. "Nice to meet you."

"You're really tall." The brown haired boy, Theta, told her.

"And...?" She replied, expecting there to be more.

"Just... you're tall." He shrugged.

"Shes not that tall, Theta. I'm nearly the same height." Koschei said as he folded his arms.

"Sorry I shouldn't have said anything." Theta groaned to himself.

Zara sat down on the grass and nodded for them to join her. "Dont worry about it, it's fine."

"I wont." Koschei smirked as he plopped himself next to her. "Theta, come on sit down."

"My fathers going to be here soon...I-I should probably wait inside for him."

"Dont be such a baby, he'll find you."

"I told him I'd meet him-"

"You always do what daddy tells you?" Zara asked. "I told my father I'd meet him by the gates at the end of the day. I'm sure he'll come look for me. IRS nice up here."

"I should probably go..." he mumbled. "I'll see you tomorrow, Koschei." And with that, Theta hurried down the bank towards the Academy.

Zara rolled onto her stomach and laughed. "Is he always such a wimp?"

"Hes not a wimp, hes my friend." Koschei huffed.

She rolled back. "We are under a minute away from the front gates and he didnt want to wait here for his father why? Incase daddy didnt come looking for him? We can see the road, we'd see him coming before he even reached the gates!"

"Theta is just cautious."

"Too cautious for his own good apparently." Zara muttered. "I dont like him."

"Do you like me?"

She looked at the blonde boy and tucked her hair behind her ears. "Yeah. You seem fun, Koschei." From their spot, she saw a familiar figure at the bottom of the hill. She jumped up and said "my fathers here. Suppose I'll see you tomorrow."

"We're friends now. You bet you'll see me."

The Historian woke with a jolt. Memories flew in front of her eyes. Hundreds and hundreds of years that had passed were at the forefront of her mind once more and she couldnt take it. She screamed, throwing her journal across the room. It slapped against the wall and dropped down hard.

She gently rose from her chair and collapsed at the end of her bed, pulling her knees to her chest. Everyone she knew from those days were gone. Koschei was gone. The Theta she knew was gone. No longer the cautious, yet toublemaking boy. Now, he was on his 9th regeneration and vastly different to how she knew him.

She thought of Henry, and how he should have- how he deserved to be there on the TARDIS with them. These were the adventures she promised him... she felt a tear drop onto her cold arms before she stood up, kicking the journal across the room and headed out, ready for wherever they were destined to go next...
