The Unquiet Dead- Part 4

They made their way into the morgue. The Doctor looked  around and  rolled his nose up. "Urgh. Talk about Bleak House.

Rose looked around and whispered . "The thing is, Doctor, the Gelth don't succeed, 'cos I know they don't. I know for a fact there weren't corpses walking around in 1869."

"Rose, times in flux, changing every second." The Historian muttered and snapped her fingers. "Your cozy little world can be rewritten like that. Nothing is safe. Remember that. Nothing."

Dickens put a hand on the Historians shoulder. "Historian, Doctor, I think the room is getting colder."

Rose looked to Gwyneth "Here they come."

Again, the Gelth came from the lamps, but stood under one of the stone archways in the room. Their strange, childlike voices rang out. "You've come to help. Praise the Doctor. Praise the Historian. Praise them."

Rose looked to the blue entities. "Promise you won't hurt her."

"Hurry! Please, so little time. Pity the Gelth."

The Doctor nodded to them. "I'll take you somewhere else after the transfer. Somewhere you can build proper bodies. This isn't a permanent solution, all right?"

Gwyneth looked to them. "My angels. I can help them live."

The Doctor and the Historian nodded. "Okay, where's the weak point?"

"Here, beneath the arch." The Gelth called.

Gwyneth went and stood beneath the arch, almost inside the Gelth as Rose called. "You don't have to do this."

"My angels."

"Establish the bridge. Reach out to the void. Let us through!" The Gelth call

"Yes, I can see you. I can see you. Come!"

"Bridgehead establishing."

" Come to me. Come to this world, poor lost souls!"

"It is begun. The bridge is made."

Gwyneth opened her mouth and blue smoke poured out as the Gelths voice rang out. " She has given herself to the Gelth. The bridge is open. We descend."

The blue apparition changed into one that was red, with sharp teeth. Rose clung onto the Historians shoulder as it spoke again.  "The Gelth will come through in force."

Dickens stood forwards, eyeing the strange creature. " You said that you were few in number!"

" A few billion. And all of us in need of corpses."

The dead began to rise around the room. "Uh oh..." the Historian muttered

Sneed stood forwards now and said "Gwyneth, stop this. Listen to your master. This has gone far enough. Stop dabbling, child, and leave these things alone, I beg of you-!

"Sneed! Get back" the historian yelled, making a grab for him... accept a corpse had got him, snapping his neck for his body to instantly be taken by a Gelth.

The Doctor leaned towards Rose and the Historian. "I think it's gone a little bit wrong."

"No, really?" The Hisotiran asked sweetly. "What gave it away? The teeth or the zombies!?"

Sneed corpse spoke. " I have joined the legions of the Gelth. Come, march with us."

Dickens glared at them. " No." He demanded.

The Gelth spoke again. "We need bodies. All of you. Dead. The human race. Dead."

The Historian Historian forwards. "Gwyneth, stop them! Send them back now!"
