I love him

I hoist my body up from the floor and push myself down to sit on the step, I didn't say a word. I was shocked If I was honest with myself, everything I thought about him... none of it was true. Everything he did was to protect me. I could feel tears beginning to form in my eyes, he actually cared about me. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him sit down next to me.

"I know It's a lot to take in, I had to make sure you were fully safe before I did anything like this" Severus said with a small smile.

I looked down and slowly reached for his hand, before I knew it his was intwined with mine. I looked up at him with a smile. For once I actually felt truly happy and it seemed like he was also, I knew now wasn't a good time but I did need to tell him I was beyond scared about this new found power I have.

"Oh yes, I forgot to tell you something" He says, looking up at me.

"What's that then" I say with a grin.

"I can read minds, mainly yours as your thoughts never seem to shut up" he says.

F U C K

There is no way- no he wouldn't have. Oh MY GOD. HE PROBABLY KNOWS EVERYTHING I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT HIM.

"Would it make you feel better If I said I hadn't" he says, laughing.

"You kept that quiet" I squealed, gently punching him on his shoulder.

"From what I recall... you find me 'extremely good looking' and your late night thoughts- well they are something else" he says grinning at me.

"Oh god, don't look at me" I say shying away from his gaze.

To my surprise he pulls me towards him and holds me in a warm embrace, I felt so safe and happy with him. It was like nothing I had ever felt before.

"So when exactly can you read my mind or should I say thoughts" I say smirking up at him.

"Nearly all the time, but that is mainly because you don't have much control over your emotions- as we know" he says.

Maybe now was a good time to mention I could use some help from him, he seems to know a lot about the mind. Maybe he could help me control it so nothing happens, it was worth a shot.

"Severus-"

"Of course I'll help you, you don't need to be so shy In asking" He says slowly standing up.

"Thank you, It's just- I guess I am just so scared of losing control and hurting someone" I say.

"I know. Don't worry, you won't. I will make sure of that" He says smiling at me.

I run over to him and wrap my arms around his waist, he didn't need to help me but he was choosing to and that made me have so much more respect for him.

"I take it you don't want to pitch yourself of the tower anymore" he says, holding me tight.

"I didn't want to in the first place, I just saw it as the only option... Until you showed up" I said, my voice muffled from his embrace.

"Don't you ever do that again. Gave me a bloody heart attack" he says.

I smile, he couldn't see me uncontrollably grinning which was a good thing, he seemed to be so much more alive with me now rather than the grumpy ass he was before.

"OI watch your language with me Miss. I can go back to mr 'grumpy ass' anytime, remember" he says laughing.

I giggle uncontrollably and push him off me, I stand staring at the man who had literally save me... more times than anyone should be able to save someone. I owed him my life and if a time ever came where he was in trouble I would do anything to save him.

"Come on then, we should get back" he says walking towards the stairs.

I try to move but my legs would not budge, It was the fear again. Not of Severus but of going back to the school.

"It's going to be fine. Nothing is going to happen and if it does, come straight to me" He says turning around.

"What if something happens in class again like last time, I was lucky I didn't have those powers then otherwise that boy he would have been de-"

"Don't think like that. If you feel yourself losing it for whatever reason in class I will be able to read your mind just tell me you need help in your head and we will sort it out, okay" he asks with a slight smile.

"Okay" I say smiling back up at him.

He takes my hand and we walk out of the Astronomy tower, Instead of heading back down to the dungeons we seemed to be going a different route.

"Where are we going" I ask Severus.

"You will see, just trust me" He says, squeezing my hand gently.

It felt nice to finally know how he truly felt about me, and that everything that happened between us... none of it was a lie. It did mean something, to him and to me. I just could not believe he could read my mind- then it hit me. The time he came into my chambers he seemed to know exactly what I was thinking but I was in so much pain I dismissed it. If he had been reading my thoughts since then he must have known every thought I had of him. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. He didn't seem to mind though, I think he finds it amusing yet a little arousing.

"Yes actually I do. Especially the 'Dream' you had about me, I loved that one" he says, winking at me.

I could feel myself blushing, you know how people say when you find 'the one' every single thing about them becomes sexy. THEY AIN'T WRONG.

"We're here" he says with a low voice.

I look around to see exactly where we were, we were on the grounds by the lake. I had not been here before but it was rather gorgeous especially at night.

"Its beautiful here" I say with a smile.

"Thats not the best part, Just wait" he says with a grin.

We lay down on the grass and wait, before I knew it there were stars literally falling out of the sky. They looked like crystals, it was the prettiest sight.

"Every so often, the sky cries. We were just lucky to catch it on a sad night" he says.

"Cries? The sky has emotions then" I ask looking at him.

"The stars you see falling are actually part of the world falling apart. I'm showing you this because this is what you look like when your world falls apart, but the world keeps spinning, so does yours" he says with a smile.

He had such a way with words, he was basically telling me that if something as strong as the universe can cry and still go on strong. I could also. I look over at him, he was staring at the stars falling. I wonder what he was thinking.

"Come on then, we best get you home" He says, pulling me off the ground.

"It does feel a lot more like home now, thank you Severus" I say with a smile.

He hesitates for a moment and walks over to me, his eyes glistening in the moonlight. They were gorgeous. He pulls me into his arms and kisses me gently.

"I'm glad I didn't lose you, I would have never forgiven myself" he says.

"You wont lose me... I- I love you" the words fall out of my mouth it might have been soon but it felt so right.

"I love you too, from the moment I laid my eyes on you. Miss Shirley" he says, he kisses me once more before we walk back to the castle.

Severus Snape was in love with me and I him. He had finally let me in, and I could not be happier.
