➳Chapter~41

After some further tests, you walked out and saw jungkook crouched down at the end of the hallway with wall supporting his back. His eyes were closed as he sat in the corner in complete silence.

You sighed and put on a stern look before walking towards him. "Let's go." He opened his eyes and faced you. "Is everything done?" The man's voice voice was raspy.

"Yep. And I'm absolutely out of danger and I'm not going to die." Jungkook raised his eyebrows as he stood up. "T-That's not p-possible."

"Well, it is. She's just a child........." You narrowed your eyes. "......... which you decided to kill."

Jungkook rushed pass you to the lab in which you were in just now. You sighed and turned around to follow him. "Is that true?" He asked the man. The researcher frowned. "I'm afraid I don't know what you are talking about."

"Is y/n safe?" He shrugged nonchalantly. "I didn't find a reason why she wouldn't be. Both the child and your wife are safe."

The taller closed his eyes. "I hope you are telling the truth and not tricking her to be one of your test subjects. One is enough." You gulp and look at the man.

"Didn't I keep you alive?"

"If being alive means that I have a barely beating heart then yes, I'm very much alive."

"This pregnancy has zero risks."

"I hope it does."

"See for yourself."

"I will."

The mutant tilted his head in a spine-chilling manner and locked his gaze with the man.

His eyes grew bright hazel along with d tough arteries which seem to bulge out of his forehead and neck as if giving a warning sign.

"If anything happens to my woman, I'll find you and I'll make sure that you would beg me to end your life once I'm done with you."

Jungkook grabbed your wrist and turned around as you got the last glance of the man in the white coat.

The scientist grimly nodded.

It was evening when you both reached home. Both of you were yet to shower since you were busy in the morning. Without a single word, you entered your bedroom and filled the tub with water. Once it was done, you slowly took your clothes off feeling tired and dizzy already and got in the tub.

You closed your eyes and sighed at the warmth but suddenly felt a movement in your tummy. The light flutter spreaded tingles through your body and you chuckled. Caressing the place of impact, warm tears slipped down your eyes. "M-Mommy will protect you sweetheart." Your lips quivered and your voice shook. "Mommy loves you sooo much. She won't let anyone hurt you. She will protect her little baby."

You released a huge breath. "You know.........daddy was lost for a while. But I know he l-loves you t-too. Daddy loves you a-alot."

"D-Daddy's scared baby. H-He's scared of losing both of us. So I want you to be strong for him. I want you to show him that you and your mommy aren't weak. You are my strong girl aren't you?"

You started shaking violently and cried more curling yourself into a little ball. You wrapped your hands around you stomach tightly and and squeezed your eyes shut.

"You are mommy's strong girl aren't you? Don't cry now, it's just a small scratch."

"B-But mommy is crying!"

"Mommy isn't strong baby, so she wants you to be stronger. You are my strong princess aren't you?"

Everything came crashing down as you got glimpses of your past. Your eyes stung and your head pounded in extreme pain. It was getting difficult to breathe in the warm and misty enviornment which forced you to take huge gasps of air underneath the water.
