My alarm started blaring. I groaned. I hit it and it shut up. I opened my eyes. Kayla was gone. Must have left earlier she likes waking up early.

I got out of the bed grudgingly. Why did I want to go to school again? Right. Normal. Yeah cause what's normal about a freak with purple eyes from the mafia who was cut open?

That's right absolutely nothing.

I grabbed a pair on skinny jeans, a black crop top that didn't go to my belly button, and a jacket like flannel.

Where my shirt didn't cover my stomach all the way you could see a large scar. My first cut.

"Who are you guys? What do you want from me! My dad is a important man! He will burn you alive!" 13 year old me screamed at the doctors who were pulling me toward the lab.

Once we got there I kicked and screamed as they tied me down to the table. A man wearing a surgical mask came at me with a scalpel. Not bothering to numb the pain.

I let out a scream as he cut open my stomach.

I unconsciously brought my hand to the scar. I heard my door open. "Baby, come on." My mother told me. I turned as she smiled. "You look beautiful."

We walked downstairs. I grabbed a piece of toast quickly. I heard a horn beeping so I yelled goodbye before scurrying out with my bag.

"You look hot!" Kayak cheered. I laughed. Connor cringed at my outfit. My hair was in a messy bun.

"You're barely wearing anything." He groaned.

"I am choosing my right to show off my body." I told him. He groaned again.

"Doesn't make it any less annoying." Dylan decided to butt in also not happy with my outfit.

"Drive." I huffed. Grudgingly he drove. We made it to the school. I smiled. Dayum. Haven't seen one of these is awhile. Cant say I missed it.

I got out of the car. Kayak behind me. I walked toward the school. Connor fell into step beside me. Dylan on my other side in a protective manner.

"Guys, I am not going to get grabbed at school." I shook me head.

"Yeah? We would have said that about our back yard too." Connor tensed as he brought up bad memories. I shrugged.

"I can defend myself." I sighed pushing past the two of them, aggravated he brought it up. Kayla was following me.

"You seem mad." She observed. I looked at her giving her a 'no duh' look.

"Who does he think he is bringing that shit up? I mean I know Connor! I was there." I crossed my arms as Kayla opened the door.

Kayla was showing me to the office. "He's just worried. You're his twin sister. He loves you." Kayla reasoned. I nodded.

"I know, it's just didn't have to bring it up," the secretary looked at me and smiled. She seems nice.

"Name?" She asked.

"Cora Banks."

She started typing on her computer. "Cora Banks? Welcome to River High." She smiled at me. I nodded my head. I grabbed my schedule and walked away.

"Let me see." Kayla grabbed my schedule. Then she groaned.

"We have two different classes." She stomped her foot. I laughed.

"No big deal." I told her. She looked at me like I was stupid. We made our way to my locker.

"Kayla! Kay!" I heard someone screaming. I turned my head in the direction. A girl around our age was running toward us.
