I rolled over groaning as my head pounded. I grabbed my phone from my pocket.
I glanced around not exactly sure where I was. All I remembered was going to this party, drinking, and kissing Kayla.
I looked over at her shirtless body. I checked the time. I widened my eyes.
I texted my mom quickly.
Cora- went for a run with Bree and Kayla. love you be home soon.
I sighed. Let's hope she buys it. I stumbled up from the bed and walked to where I knew the kitchen was.
A boy who I guess threw the party was cleaning. "Morning, sunshine." He greeted happily. I groaned. He gave me a pill to subside the headache.
He looked at me and cringed. "Clothes." He ordered. I looked at my body and realized I was shirtless as well.
I trudged my way upstairs and put on a shirt before coming back down.
"Who even are you?" I asked rudely because my head was still throbbing.
He blinked. "I live here. Who are you?" He asked sassily. I laughed but regretted it because it made me want to puke.
"Cora. Sorry about crashing here. Got tired." I yawned. He nodded.
"No problem. I mean you did sleep in my bed, but it's fine. I'll just wash the sheets." He laughed. I raised my glass of water.
I heard groans from upstairs then a scream. The boy looked alert and I would be too but I can't seem to move very quickly despite my abilities.
"You stepped on me!" I heard the voice who I knew was Bree scream.
"It's fine. Just Bree and Kayla." I told the boy who's name I still don't know.
"Bree the one on the ground?" He asked. I nodded.
"What's your name, nice boy?" I asked. He laughed at the nickname.
"Zane." He answered. I heard footsteps and my two friends were coming down the stairs.
"Who's the shank?" Kayla asked grumpily.
"Don't be rude. This is Zane. He let us stay here. In his room." I emphasized that we owed him.
"Oh thanks." Both girls mumbled. He gave them a glass of water and a pill too.
"So, Zane, why do you look like little Miss. Sunshine?" Bree asked.
"Didn't drink." He answered simply.
"You threw a party and didn't drink. Weird." I piped in. He glared at me.
"Or responsible unlike the 3 of you." He snapped back. I didn't even know this boy and we are talking like friends.
"I see your point. Well, Mister. Responsible, we should be on our way now." I told him.
"Goodbye." He spoke smiling sarcastically. We grabbed our bags we found by the door and left the house.
"That's wasn't weird at all." Bree started laughing. We joined in at how weird that experience was.
"Talk to your parents?" Kayla questioned as she got into the drivers seat of the car.
I nodded. "Told her we went out for a run." I answered. She gave me a look.
"The only time you run is when something is chasing you." She retorted. Bree snorted in the back.
"I changed." I argued. She laughed.
"Sweetheart, you may be faster now, but that does not mean you like running." She countered.
