Rin was at the kitchen, busy preparing food. She was waiting for the stew to finish. Something to warm his stomach. And while she was at it, she started cleaning up the mess she had made of their once tidy counter. She washed the utensils and cooking ware she had used, loaded them on the dishwasher and pressed the start button.

The kitchen was back to it's spotless glory. She's a tad bit OC but hey, wouldnt anyone love to come home to a clean house after a tiring day at work?

She opened the caserole lid and decided it's done. She turned off the gas and let it cool a bit.

All set.

She was at the fridge checking the box cake she made for dessert when the phone rang. She excitedly picked up, knowing it could be him.

It was Kanna.

"Oh, Ok." She wanted to ask if he was there beside the older woman or was he at some meeting again, but decided not to. There's no point. "Bye."

She couldnt hide the disappointment in her voice when Kanna told her Sesshomaru couldnt come home tonight. And to think she prepared all his favorite food too.

He couldnt tell me himself. He must be really busy, huh?

Rin covered the dishes with food wrap. She sat in one of the chairs and slumped. Appetite lost. It's been three days and she missed him. She sighed in defeat. And she was looking forward to his coming home too.

She got up and left the dining room. The food sat at the table, cold and forgotten.

.

"Are you sure about this?" Kanna only had silence for an answer. Sesshomaru pretended not to hear their conversation. He could be mule headed too at times. He didnt have anything else to do at the company anymore. The appointments were supposed to last five days but he managed to fit it in just three. He was planning to spend the weekends with her since they rarely had time together anymore. But that wont be happening now.

Kanna bowed and went to leave the office. She didnt wait for him to bid her off. Office hours were over. Only a few employees, the janitors and security guards doing their rounds are left at the company building. It's been a long three days. She too needed rest. She'd go home and catch some sleep. Then she'll think of ways to get his head out of the water.
