"Leave the house." Rin repeated inaudibly to herself. The man who was seated opposite her at the table simply nodded and waited for further response. His stoic face not so much has changed expression during their conversation.

They look so much alike. Rin couldn't help but notice how Sesshomaru took after his father. It irked her to be face to face with a man who resembled the person she love and cared for the most. Only, this man unnerved her.

"No. You want me to leave Sesshomaru. Is that it?" Rin concluded when she finally got back to her footing.

"We believe it's for the best-" Hakudoshi didn't get to finish when Rin interrupted him.

"Let me get this straight. It's his house. I'll leave only if he himself asks me too." Of course, Rin knew it wasn't just about her living with Sesshomaru. That's barely the issue. She was mad because she knew he had a point.

The old man clearly wasted not another minute the moment she took her seat across him at the restaurant. He's not one to kid about things. He stated his purpose and objectives and his concern for his oldest son's well-being. But Rin refused to see past that.

"You've never been a father to him to suddenly decide for Sesshomaru's life. I don't see why you should start now."

Rin stood up rather abruptly earning her odd looks the other patrons gave her. She had to get out of here fast. The dam was about to break. She doesn't know until when she could hold it for. The water threatened to spill.

Rin walked out of the restaurant without as much giving both men a backward glance.

"That girl wears her emotions in her sleeve." Hakudoshi said as he took the seat Rin just emptied and turned to face his master.

.

It kept ringing in her ears. She hated the guy and how he acted like he could run their lives. His life. Sesshomaru's life. But she hated herself more for being affected.

'My son is a man of ambitions. I may not have been a father to him but I've never turned a blind eye to his efforts and achievements. He had accomplished so much for himself. It seemed that my son is very fond of you. But I'm afraid you would only drag him down.'

She kept walking without a certain direction in mind. She just wanted to see him right now. She needed to see Sesshomaru. She needed him to take away her fears and insecurities like how he'd always do.

"Rin! Hey! Listen, you need to stop!" A guy called out to her from the side of the street before finally deciding to pull her out of harm's way as the light changed to green signalling for the vehicles to make a go for it.

Rin found herself locked in a man's embrace. "Ha-Hakurei?" The glassy look on her eyes were replaced with confusion.

"I called you twice. But you didn't seem to hear. You were walking really fast." Absorbing what he said, she moved out of his embrace. She was still shaking so he held her at arm's length to support her. Rin took a glance around her.

And back to her savior. Hakurei. It had been years since he moved away from when he was adopted to a family. This isn't exactly how she imagined meeting him again.

"You were about to cross. A pedestrian lane! You!" Hakurei inhaled and exhaled deeply. Rin gave him a scare. "I instantly knew I had to pull you."

Rin settled for a nod. She didn't trust herself to speak. The last thing she needed was a nervous breakdown. God! How much more helpless could she get. She was so stressed that she forgot such an equally important thing. She has dromophobia.

She never cross pedestrian lanes. Ever. It reminds her of how everything was taken from her. And now as if fate's playing a sick joke, she was about to be stripped of everything she holds dear. Again.

The dam broke. And the tears came.
