It was already 45 minutes past 3 in the morning and Rin hasn't come home yet.
Sesshomaru could feel his patience slipping away with every tick of the clock's hand.
He's irritated that she hasnt answered nor returned any of his calls. He kept dialing that he'd lost count. But what made him angrier is the realization that he was more worried than mad at her.
Kanna was of no help. Even Hakurei didnt know of her whereabouts. She had left today's therapy session early. The only class she had to teach was in the morning. She didnt have volunteer work today too.
He was sipping his third cup of coffee when his phone buzzed. He hurriedly picked up his phone from the table. He huffed when he saw the number and realized it was just Inuyasha.
"Not now Inuyasha. I have a very important matter to attend to-."
"I know where she is." Inuyasha cut his older brother off before he could reprimand him any further.

"Oi, mister! I asked you for one more shot." She slurred out, raising two fingers at the bartender, clearly drunk.
She was sat at a bar stool surrounded by a sea of bodies grinding to the loud upbeat music on the background.
"Dont deny the lady. Tabs on me." To her left was the handsome man she met earlier on the dancefloor.
She smiled up at him. He smiled back wryly. She probably looked like a banshee now. She glared at her empty glass.
She used to think she was tough, but then she realized she wasnt. She was fragile and she wore thick fucking armor. She kept to herself so she wouldnt hurt. And she thought that was what being tough was, but it isnt.
Her little inaudible sobs came.
Pathetic. She groaned.
Another fit of hiccups later the bartender returned and she stood up to grab her drink when a hand stopped hers.
An arm snaked around her waist protectively and her hand guided to hold onto broad shoulders.
"Back off." She heard a stern voice from behind her.
She felt the ground shift or rather, the ceiling turned upside as she was lifted from the floor into an embrace.
It took her foggy mind several minutes to recognize his scent. Sesshomaru. When she looked up, he was scowling. But his gaze was focused ahead as he wound their way out of the crowd.
She looked behind his shoulders as he carried her from whence they came just in time to see Inuyasha's fist connect to the black-haired guy's jaw.
She winced. That would hurt.

The alcohol had fully kicked in by the time they arrived home, rendering her knocked out.
Sesshomaru carried her to her bedroom. He gently laid her down on the mattress.
He removed her shoes one by one, all the while she kept shifting on her sides making the task difficult.
He covered her with the sheets. He brushed the stray strands of hair from her eyes. He could feel the traces of dried tears on the side of her face. She had been crying.
