I've never heard a gunshot before and I stood there in shock. At least I've never remembered hearing one.
"Britney!" Emily shouted in my face but I couldn't hear her because I was still in shock.
She tugged my arm and pain shot through my shoulder.
I didn't scream though.
I don't don't know why I didn't scream.
Emily pulled me out of the bathroom and back into the cafeteria.
I almost screamed because of the pain in my arm but the sight I saw stopped me.
There were soldiers lined up against the wall and there was a group of them surrounding someone or something.
Alissa and Vanessa basically sprinted back to their seats while Emily tried to run but I slowed her down.
As I sat down Vanessa said "That was a close one!"
Alissa leaned in and whispered "I can't believe that we forgot today was recount day! Out of all days in the month, the one Britney gets slammed in the back with lasagna has to be recount day!"
I was now sweating and biting my lip from the pain
"Bri, are you ok?" Emily asked. I guess she isn't that bad but she just doesn't like Alissa that much. I think.
"Ya." I answered and continued to stare at the group of soldiers huddled around somebody.
"You don't look so sure." Vanessa said following my gaze to the group of soldiers. "O that's probably just another goth being and idiot."
" Ya." I said again
"Are you sure because basically all you've said today is ya" Emily added.
The soldiers moved apart and in between them I saw the boy who spilt lasagna on me. He had blood coming out of his side. His face was cringed in pain and I remembered what happens to my arm.
I yelped in pain and started seeing blackness on the edge of my vision.
Right before I passed out I remembered the boy's name.
Brendan.
