AHHHHHH!!!! So close to revealing what happened to her dad.... And before now!!!!
********Flashback********
About 4 months after my first mission, Brendan called me in for an unexpected mission.
I walked into the Control Room feeling the tension in the air. I think I disturbed the silence and hard thinking of the elite in the room.
"What's up?" I asked looking around to find everyone looking at me.
"What's up is that we HAVE to do it tonight. They moved institution day again." Some map guy said.
"Institution day is tomorrow! Someone leaked our original mission to the government." Brendan says and my eyes go right to Mr. Wilson.
I don't know why but he just gives me the creeps! I know it's kind of ridiculous that I don't trust the second in command but he just is in peculiar places at peculiar times. Like last week he was working with some informer in the main room with the see through glass tablets and screens in the air. He wanted all the plans of the mission that had been developed. Then the other day he was asking me if I wanted to compromise the success of our overall goal. I laughed awkwardly and said I'd never think of such things.
So you get why I think he would be the first one to do that.
"So tell me what I need to do." I say walking over to the map...
.____.
An hour later it's 10 o'clock and we are in the helicopter.
Brendan explained to me earlier that in every house there was a government issued box that has a radio for emergency announcements. Over the past couple months inspectors had been sent to put in a gas that made you fall asleep... and stay asleep for 24 hours. During that time the government will excavate any known rebels and leave letters to the family that they had passed away. Then the next day, they will institute multiple new laws that no one has any idea of.
As we land in a thick forest near the governments headquarter building. Not the White House, because that had not been in use for a long, long time.
Brendan, Mr. Wilson and I got out of the helicopter and went to a small building nearby.
We wait for another helicopter that has our third person in our mission.
Mr. Wilson isn't actually participating in the mission but helping with the exit plan.
As Brendan and I wait in anticipation to see who our third member will be ( Mr.
Wilson assured it would be someone highly trained because the commander chose it), we chatter about the percent of probable success of this mission ( which is very hard to calculate because we still have no idea who the third agent is).At about 11 o' clock, a helicopter landed . A dark figure exited the helicopter and ran quickly over to us with her hair blowing crazy.
Alissa.
It was Alissa. That's our third agent. I can't believe it!
I stare at her as Brendan introduces himself.
"Hi." she says to me.
I merely ignore her and say to Brendan "Well, we better be off." I say starting on the dark, foggy trail.
Alissa runs up in front of me to lead because that's one of her many requirements as the third agent.
"What the hell was that?" Brendan whispers to me.
"She goes to my school. She isn't very nice." I say acutely.
"Well you better become friends with her quick because your life depends on it." He says then walks just ahead of me so we are all single file, walking like prisoners to their deaths.
