I opened my eyes and looked around.
I was on the couch.
Again.
I sat up quickly and saw Brendan sitting in the armchair to my left.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
I think people have asked me that question about 1 billion times in the past 24 hours.
"Ya." I answered standing up and walking over to the kitchen.
I was about to fill a glass with water when I looked at Brendan and asked "Did that really all happen?"
"What?"
"The whole spy C.I.A. thing."
"Yes." Brendan answered looking up
I continued to fill my glass with water when I heard the doorbell ring.
"Crap!" I said and spit water all over the kitchen.
MY DATE WITH AUSTIN!!!
I ran to the door to open it but Brendan had beat me to it.
"What the hell are you doing here?!!" Austin shouted in surprise at Brendan.
I pushed past Brendan and looked at Austin in his suit.
"WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING HERE!!!" Austin kinda yelled at me.
"He came to check on me." I said defensively.
"It doesn't take that long just to..."
"And he was just leaving" I cut off Austin.
Brendan walked past me and Austin and both of them started walking down the sidewalk to their cars.
"Austin I forgot my purse."
I ran inside and grabbed it off the table. As I walked towards the front door I paused as I heard Austin yelling at Brendan.
"Stay away from her! It's over Brendan, you lost!"
I waited three seconds before I walked out the door into the warm April breeze.
I locked the door behind me and walked down the driveway to Austin's car.
He opened the car door for me and I got in.
Austin started the car and we ride the half hour ride to the event in awkward silence.
