I was sitting on the couch when suddenly I hear sophie screaming and something falling down. I quickly run the stairs up to her room She is on the floor with the pieces of vase all around her crying.
"Sophie are you okay?" I ask as I stepped into the room.
She doesn't stop crying.
"Are you hurt?" I ask. She points to her foot.
A piece of glass was stuck there. I could see it was not deep, and the piece of glass wasn't that big either.
"Sophie calm down I will be right back." I said.
I run down to medicine cabinet and pick the first aid box up. I quickly wash my hands as I would have to touch it and my hands might have germs in them that might lead to infection so better to wash. I run back up she is still sitting on the floor still crying. I quickly calm her down by giving her a few hugs and saying that it's going to be alright.
"Dad it hurts." She says wiping her tears.
"Just let me see. I'll be as gentle and as slow as possible." I say.
"Promise?" She says.
"Promise." I say.

He extends his hand and gently keeps my foot in his other and takes a look at it.
"The glass piece is not that big nor does it hit any arteries and all. So I can take it out like we rip off a bandage fast and painful and then I just dress it up." He says and I see relieve take over his face. I just nod.
"I will take it out on 3." He said. I nod again and close my eyes.
"1,2" He says and suddenly I feel the pain go through my whole foot.
"That hurt," I say
"I am sorry but I did say it would be painful." He says.
"But you did say that you will take it out on 3 then why did you take it out on 3?" I ask.
"Always better when you don't see it coming." He says. I nod.
"Alright, I'm just going to dress it up now so it stays covered." Dad says.
"Will it hurt?" I ask.
"It shouldn't." He says.
He quickly begins the dressing of the wound. It didn't hurt it was a bit uncomfortable though and my eyes were starting to close. I was tired this day was just something else something I am not used to a lot happened first a stranger to me entered in the house and he had a gun and now dad was dressing up my wound. I also forgot to reply to Nathan I decided to do that when dad was done.
"I am done." He announces as he gets up and picks the cotton and everything up.
"Thank you." I said.
"No problem, just what I do on a daily basis but those are really big yours was just a little but just as important to be attended to cause even the smallest of wounds can cause the biggest of problems." He said.
"Who said that?" I ask.
"Your mom. She said when we had a lot of small topics left to prepare for the exam." He said and laughed. I started laughing too.
