Eleven

ASHTON POV 

When Sophie didn't come for a whole hour I called her and heard the buzzing of her phone in her room only meaning she left her phone here.  This worried me this was nothing like her.

10 mins later...

The door opens and reveals Sophie.

I sigh in relief.

Sophie pov

I was really scared when I faced dad. He didn't shout or anything just pulled me into a hug. When he pulled back his face was expressionless.

"Why were you late?"  He asked.

"Dad, I am so sorry I didn't look at the time." I say looking down.

"Alright, just take care from next time. Are you hungry?" He asks.

"Nope". I say and start climbing up the stairs. 

"I know you had that packet of chips." He says which shocked me. 

"How?"  I ask.

"That doesn't matter, just tell me next time you have them, I won't stop you I just want you to be healthy and you can have them occasionally just don't make it a daily thing."  He says.

"I won't make it a daily thing.". I say and go up to my room.

I sit on my bed and check my phone.

Texts from Nathan:
Hey Sophie, hope we can still be friends.

I decide to reply
Sophie: Hey, Nate yeah we can be friends.
Nathan: Great. Been a long time since we talked how are you doing?
Sophie: I am good, you? 
Nathan: I am fine adjusting to the lifestyle and timezone here.
Sophie: That reminds me isn't it way after midnight for you.
Nathan: It is. It's 3 am.
Sophie: Go sleep. I am not replying. Have a great sleep.
Nathan: Fine. If you say so. Talk later.
End of convo.

I heard a knock on the door.

"It's open." I say. He always knocked in case I was changing or needed some time alone.

Dad comes in and sits on my bed.

"So, Sophie you are coming with me tomorrow."  He said.

"To where?"  I ask.

"The hospital." He says.

"Wait you never take me and didn't I just have a checkup," I say.

"I know you just had one, but I leave you with Duke."  He says.

"So I think you still can leave me with him." I say.

"I can't. He is starting to work at the hospital from Tomorrow."  He said.

"So what will I do?"  I ask.

"Well, we can have lunch together for which times will be varying depending on my day. Rest of the day, you can read something or spend time with people your age who are stuck in the hospital cause they are sick and don't have something infectious, cause I don't you sick." He replied listing all the things that  I could do.

We could have lunch together which was rare as when it was lunch so he would usually be working.

I accepted my defeat and the thought of spending the day in the hospital learning and seeing him and other people saving lives was great.

"Okay. When do we have to depart?"  I asked.

"My shift starts at 7 so we'll have to be road by 6." He says after thinking for a while. 

"Dad but it takes 20 minutes to reach the hospital." I said shocked that I have to be up by 5 30.

"No buts. You're going with me and that's it and I do have some work that I have to do before I start work for the day." He said getting up.

"Fine." I said.

"Be up by 5:30. " He said and got out of the room.

I sighed and laid down on the bed. I picked my phone and played some music. It was the album Wonder. Which I had listened to a few times.

I was sitting on the bed I started to feel sleepy, I kept my phone on charge. Walked into the bathroom and then showered, brush flossed, and changed into my nightclothes. I stepped outside the room to say goodnight to dad and he was there arguing with someone. A woman was standing there. She looked a lot like dad. I didnt know her.

"Sophie." The woman called.

"Sophie go into your room right now." He said.

"No, Ashton. I wanna meet her, she's my niece." The woman said.

"Firstly, she's not she doesn't even remember you and Sophie you can come down." Dad said. 

Niece, was she my aunt? Dad's sister? I didn't know her. I went down but hid behind dad.

"Sophie, I never told you about her cause she was never here she is my sister and your aunt." 

End
