After the Dream

After dinner, I was completely ready for bed, despite falling asleep in the hot springs. I found a flowy nightgown in a pale blue color. I hopped in bed and tried to sleep. Of course, my bad luck would choose then of all times to keep me from sleeping. I decided that if I wanted to sleep, I would have to read a book.

I got up and walked to the library in search of a good bedtime story. I'm sure Lady Palutena wouldn't mind if I borrowed a book, right? I entered the large library, taking in the wonder and smell of paper. Like the observatory, the library had a glass dome, only smaller. I took a flashlight I had found in a storage closet on the way because all the main rooms were dark. With that, I started going through shelves full of books that ranged from children's books to old government records of past murders. It was set up in a cool way as well, with there being a balcony that circled the inside of the large room. I searched for a few minutes before coming across a book that looked interesting. (Your favorite book) was its name. I opened it and started to read the first page. The story sucked me in from the very start. I positioned my laurel crown on my head as a voice I knew rang through it.

'Up late, again? I hope this isn't another one of your attempts to escape to another dimension,' it was none other than the mysterious Dark Pit. I looked up to see him blocking the light of the moon from my view with his shadow. He was talking to me through my crown.

'What are you doing here?' I asked. 'Are you on another mission?'

'Yeah, but it's not for Viridi,' he replied.

'Then, who are you working for now?' that was my next question.

'I have never worked for anyone and I never will. I just do what people tell me when I want to,' he corrected me.

'You didn't answer my question,' I pointed out.

'I came here because this is the best view in all the world. You can't have it all to yourself, Taylor,' I sighed at his immaturity and went back to reading my book. 'Are you ignoring me?'

'And what if I am?' I asked.

'Whatever,' he scoffed and turned his attention to the moon. 'What do I care?' It was silent for a second until I spoke up. 'If you didn't care, you wouldn't have saved me last night.'

Dead silence. He didn't speak and I didn't speak back. I kept reading my book as I walked up to the hatch, climbing onto the glass dome. I walked over to where he was and sat down as he looked over Skyworld below. We didn't look at each other.

"Hey," I said out loud.

"What do you want?" he acknowledged my existence.

"I wanted to have some company. Since you're not going anywhere, that makes you the perfect person for that," I stated, turning a page in my book.

"If you want company, go ask Palutena, " Dark Pit suggested.

"I think Pit would be the better one to have a conversation with. He is much easier going," I stated as I smoothed the book's page with my hand.

"Pit's stupid. Why would you want to have a conversation with him anyway!" the angel seemed angry.

"Well, he's better to talk to than you. That's for sure," I said bluntly.

"That hurts," he was obviously kidding, but I carried on with the facade.

"Does it really?" I smiled a small grin. "I thought you were a little tougher than that."

"You don't know me," he retorted.

"No one seems to. All I've heard is that you came out of a mirror," I joked. Though, it wasn't a lie.

"Where did you hear that?" he asked.

"I asked Lady Palutena myself," I informed him.

"What? Why?" he seemed a little flustered at my question. Ignoring his question, I walked over and opened the hatch to the library. "Where are you going?!"

"No offense, but I'm just not in the mood to answer you right now," I stated bluntly. "But I might if you come back tomorrow."

"Fine, do whatever you want," he scoffed.

"Ok, I'll be waiting," I smiled and closed the hatch, a hysterical look on his face as I left. I took off my laurel crown, so I couldn't be bothered by him anymore. That's when I was overcome by a wave of despair. I was planning to go back to the Labyrinth, but I didn't want to get caught by Dark Pit again. Since he wasn't coming back until the next night, this was the perfect time to escape.

I had gathered my things by 11:00 pm and opened the portal. I had to do it, for everyone. Seeing a moving platform, I jumped, not knowing what was to come next.

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

the next day y/n tells pit about her nightmeres during a sword fight in the evening

she trusts him fully even after spending a week and a half with him, and he tells her that she has this perfect trustworthy aura

he offers her a dream tonic to help her dreams go away but she knws it wont work becuase her bad luck is a curse, an entity, not a condition

she takes it anyway and she wakes up in the middle of the night. She is not swirling i her thoughts. She was finally use to being safe and sneaks into the library (centurions are sleeping at their posts so she goes unseen.

Dark Pit loomed on the roof and she goes up to see what he wants. He wants to know if she had put the box back and Viridi needed an answer from him immediately.

She lies and wants her to prove it. So she bluffs all the way to the cave in her old neighborhood. She explains this is whats become of her town. Shes nervous when they get close to the cave... but it's gone

dark pit says this is bad news, and she's shocked he belives the story about the cave. He says it a part of the legend (extra lore stuff that may be forshadowing)

Then he sends her back and at the end, tells her to contact him through the laurel crowns if there is a development. She wonders why hes being so trusting and attentive. Does he like her or is he just doing his job?

She asks what the power of flight means to him. He says its his only form of individuality, his only way to be free. His only vise in that dark world. "even though hades is dead, the gods never stop wreaking havoc"

yn drops that hades might be back. They form a trust bond through that.

the moment he flies off into the stars, she goes to the labyrinth of deceit
