The Peace Treaty

There I was, standing helplessly in Vridi's courtroom. Palutena and Pit seemed ready to sign the Peace Treaty. Dark Pit leaned on the wall in the background, I could feel his glaring eyes stabbing into my back as a bead of sweat ran down my face. I didn't want to explain that I was the one that let Hades out and how Pandora opened the box. I couldn't believe I had let my guard down so easily. My stupidity could make Viridi refuse to sign the Peace Treaty. My bad luck had really done it this time.

"I call this meeting in order," Viridi sat on one side of the room.

"Are we ready to discuss the signing of the treaty regulation?" Palutena asked.

"Before that, Dark Pit told me something I would like to confirm with the human," Viridi announced, and Palutena raised a brow. "Is it true that she is responsible for such misfortune? Regarding the return of Hades, I mean."

"I am," I stood up and looked the goddess of nature dead in the eyes.

"And is the bit about you really being the reincarnation of Atë true too?" she pushed her chair back and stood up. The atmosphere in the room went from bad to worse.

     "I'm afraid so," I stated.

"Dark Pit also told me that you went to Pandora to get your bad luck removed, bring the box as well. Is that true too?" I nodded. "Dark Pit! You put trust in one person and you put it in a human. What do you have to say for yourself?"

"I don't have to say anything to you," he bluntly stated, pushing some bangs out of his face.

"And I don't have to give you the power of flight," Viridi retorted.

"Anyway, I say we execute the human, like the original plan, before she messes up the world again."

"Wait, you were planning to execute her?" Pit spoke up in anger.

"Well yeah, why else do you think Dark Pit knew the way in when he delivered the letter?" Viridi pointed out.

"Well, we can't let you kill her anyway!" Palutena shouted. "It's wrong to take innocent lives."

"Innocent? The last time I checked the human unleashed Hades back into the world," Vriridi retorted. "And then she lied to us all. We must have an execution before her bad luck rubs off on us."

"I won't let that happen!" Pit stood up. "She may have made mistakes in the past, but everyone deserves a second chance!"

"She has had plenty of chances. She just doesn't think before she acts!" Viridi exclaimed. "If she can only make things worse, we might as well kill her now!"

"I object!" I shouted and the room went silent. "There has to be another way."

My words caught Viridi's attention, and not in a good way. "You humans are so pathetic! If you want to survive than you come up with a plan to save our butts'!!!"

She was right, I had to help if I didn't want to be dead weight. "Well, let's think through this logically." I started

"Oh, what did Pandora tell you back in her dimension?" Pit jumped at the chance to help me out like the sweetheart that he was. Maybe if we can unlock your power, then you can help us defeat Hades!"

"That's a good thought, Pit, but normal humans can't use powers even if they have them. It would kill any human," Palutena dropped her knowledge all over Pit's idea.

"See? If she can't be anyone of significance, then we should kill her!" Viridi's morbid thoughts made a shiver go down my spine.

"Well, what if there is a way to make (Y/n)'s bad luck rub off on the bad guys," Dark Pit finally chimed.

"And how do you think we should go about that," Viridi seemed as hypocritic as ever. Then it clicked in my mind.

"That actually gives me an idea, Dark Pit. If I can't really control my powers, I just pretend like I do!" I answered with a straight face. Dark Pit looked confused about where I went with his original idea.

"What does that mean?" Viridi rolled her eyes at my miscommunication.

"That means if I have bad luck at all, I can just pretend like I have it to fool the underworld army," the plan started to form in my mind.

"But how do you plan to get your bad luck to rub off on the underworld army?" Lady Palutena questioned me and I came to a conclusion.

"You would have to join the dark side," Dark Pit took the words out of my mouth. He was the only one that seemed to catch on.

"(Y/n) would never do that?" Pit asked, seeming moderately panicked.

"Well, in a way it makes sense. With me on their side, they would lose because of my bad luck," I explained to Pit.

"And with Hades dead, you would come back to Skyworld, right? Pit asked.

"Well, I would have to retreat to Pandora's dimension. I can't stay in Skyworld. I would put you all at risk," the light in Pit's eyes dimmed.

"The plan makes sense and all, but it's too dangerous for a human like you. You could die, or at least get hurt," Dark Pit said out of nowhere.

"Since when do you care," I asked.

"Oh, sorry. It was just in my best interest to keep you alive until the execution," Dark Pit smirked.

"That's a terrible thing to say, Pitto!" Pit gritted his teeth.

"Didn't we just establish that I don't care?" Dark Pit retorted. A fight was about to break out. I could tell. Palutena restrained Pit and Viridi did the same to his dark doppelganger.

"Anyway, does anyone have a better plan?" I asked. The room was silent, much to Viridi's dismay. "Oh, come on! No one?!

"Does the silence mean we can now discuss the terms?" Palutena asked.

"Fine, what would we put first?" Viridi groaned.

The terms that were established on the peace treaty were:

1. When danger strikes, any SOS must be answered unless the other party has been faced with other circumstances, and cannot come to aid.2. All disagreements must be settled peacefully unless murder has been committed to anyone in the opposing party.3. Any laws made with the option of the opposing party, the majority rules.4. This contract will be put into effect in any and all circumstances. The goddesses signed the contract along with the commanders. With that, both realms were allies.

"So, how are we going to get Hades to keep (Y/n) without eating her soul?" Dark Pit pitched the question the moment the treaty was signed. I would have to come up with a whole different plan for that.
