The War

I put on my chest plate and clutched my bow. I sat on a monoeye that was in charge of carrying me as I fought, since I didn't have the power of flight in my human body. I straightened my helmet and rode the monoeye off into battle alongside gods and goddesses of other worlds. I first saw the shine on Pit's wings and the ocean blue eyes that I had seen for the first time long before the war. Then there was Virirdi's army with Phosphera leading in front, Dark Pit off to the side. The armies were large and their emergence from the light was nothing less than majestic.

"Hades," Pit yelled.

"Pit," Hades scoffed.

"Hades"

"Pit"

"Hades"

"Pit"

"HADES"

"PIT"

"CAN WE START?" I finally shouted at both of them.

"Oh, sorry Atë. I forgot that you hadn't participated in a war before this. The whole Pit, Hades thing is supposed to go on for a few more seconds," the god of the underworld informed.

"HADES"

"PIT"

"HADES"

"PIT"

At last, Hades started to shoot at the angel and everyone else lashed out into war. I did what I did best and stuck around Pandora, trying to give her the effects of my bad luck. It worked. A flying acorn was able to make her fly in the other direction. I then went over to Thanatos and tried to share my misfortune with him. A centurion shot him out of the sky almost immediately.

I was killing it, but I didn't get my hopes up too high. Then, I took a slight trip over to Madusa to see that almost all of Viridi's army was busy taking her down. She seemed to manage them all off on her own. I knew I had to do something to help, but I was fighting on the side I didn't want to be on. It was like I was in another dodgeball tournament with my classmates. I cringed at the memory. I might as well have been in a war. Hades was busy fighting Pit and the goddesses discussed with the laurel crowns. They were nice enough to invite me to the meeting as well.

'Oh, can I narrate the fight?' I asked, trying to be in character as Atë.

'What do you mean, (Y/n)?' Lady Palutena asked.

'It had been a rough day, but the last of humanity's hope wasn't done yet," I narrated in a low voice. 'Our hero, the Last Angel Pit, still holds his ground on the battlefield.'

'Hate to break it to you, but this is an air battle,' Viridi's remarked and I told her to let me finish.

'Ooh, can I join the chat as well!' Pandora cooed.

'Bestie!' I shouted, still playing the part. I could tell that the goddesses just cringed at me for acting part evil and part valley girl. Then we all heard a screech of death echo through the sky. Madusa had fallen by a strike of lightning from Phosphera.

'No, Snake Woman!' Pandora and I yelled at the same time. That's basically what we called her to entertain ourselves. The goddesses cringed again.

'Thanotos isn't doing too well either,' Plautena pointed out. 'We'd better go and help him, Atë,' Pandora told in a peepy voice. 'With him alive, we can win this war.'

On our way over, Dark Pit seemed to be taking a beating. He was fighting one of the hewdraw heads while occasionally shooting a few arrows at Pit, who was dealing with Hades. As much as I wanted to help, that would blow my cover. Phosphera had already moved onto fighting Thanotos as I arrived alongside Pandora.

My 'bestie' had started shooting at the electricity girl before I could make a move. Since I couldn't do much, I had the monoeye below do the dirty work. Phosphoera wasn't holding up well and with Pit fighting Hades, I would have to ask Dark Pit for help.

'Dark Pit, um are you busy?' I asked reluctantly using my laurel crown.

'What do you think? We are in a war,' he pointed out.

'Well, Phosphera is getting beaten pretty bad and I was wondering if you could help,' I told him sheepishly.

'Whatever, I'm coming over,' he stated bluntly, sounding slightly annoyed with me. For all I knew, he most likely was. The next thing I knew, Dark Pit was over at the speed of lightning, totally knocking Thanatos out of the sky. Two underlings of Hades down, more to go. All of the hewdraw heads came for our group at the same time. With all the commotion, I went to go check on Pit. That's when Blue teleported to my face.

"Blue? I told you to stay at home!" I scolded the cat. He didn't seem to care that he had teleported to my face in the middle of the war. Then I had an idea. With almost all the commanders dead, I should turn on them and help Pit.

Being of some use felt like the best idea I had all day. I told Blue to teleport me to Hades, so I could shoot him in the back with an arrow. I finally got Blue to do it, but I almost blew my cover. He was really close to seeing me teleport behind him. I drew my arrow. With any good luck, I would be able to make the shot. I took a deep breath and focused on where his heart was.

Exhaling, I let the arrow go but felt a bash to my head, knocking me off the monoeye. The world quickly turned black and all I could hear was a loud 'nooooo' from Hades.

I save the world and die in the process. Just my luck...
