Back at the Temple

I opened my eyelids because they didn't seem to hurt anymore. I was in a soft bed and the light from the windows was shining in my (E/c) eyes. A feeling I knew too well.

"SHE'S AWAKE!" I heard a voice cry in excitement. A voice I knew too well. The next thing I knew, Pit had his arms around my neck. I couldn't have felt more at home any other way. I hugged the angel back. "You've been in a coma for a week now!I was so worried!"

"A WEEK!?" I exclaimed. My visions felt like they lasted five minutes each.

"She's awake?!" Palutena burst through the door. The joyful looks on their faces only made me happier to be home.

That weekend, Lady Palutena arranged a ball in celebration of winning the war. It would be the bash of the ages. Or that's what she said it would be. It didn't matter if everyone was invited, or it was just the three of us in the temple playing video games.

The best part of this party was that it wasn't going to be interrupted by an ambush. I was done fighting for the rest of my human life. The whole Atë thing was going on the back burner for a long while. Palutena wanted to make the party really formal, so I had to wear a dress. It's not that dresses are bad, I just didn't think I could wear one and make it look good.

"Lady Palutena, are you sure I need to wear a dress? I think I would fill dress pants a lot better," I imposed my opinion on my body type.

"(Y/n), this is a ball and I won't have you going anywhere near it until we find you the perfect dress," Lady Palutena was determined to get me a dress for the ball.

"But social events make me nervous. Maybe I could sit this one out. I would just embarrass myself," I tried to make up every excuse in the book not to go.

"NO excuses, you are being very immature. After all, every girl can look good in a dress," she told me in a matter-a-fact way. I sighed. She wasn't wrong. I needed to stop rejecting her help and wear a dress, as much as I didn't want to. Palutena kept going through my closet of never-ending outfits for every occasion. Including ballgowns.

"Ok, but what color would even look good on me?" I asked. I loved the color (f/c) but I didn't look great in it. It doesn't really compliment my skin color. Lady Palutena pulled a new dress out of the closet.

"What about this one?" she asked and I had to say I was a little shocked. It was a light blue party dress. It was a little plain, but that's why I liked it. It wouldn't make me catch too much attention. "It's perfect!" I exclaimed.

The evening of the ball came, and the ballroom filled up extremely quickly. Hiding behind the edge of the ballroom entrance, I watched as the gods and goddesses from all different dimensions came to the party. There was cold sweat dripping from my forehead, for social events with the rulers of space and time wasn't my thing. I could unleash evil out onto the world, but I couldn't be in a place with this many people. Blue came up and rubbed his cheek against my foot, a comforting feeling.

I petted him. After what happened at the last party he went to, I would think he wouldn't be anywhere near the ballroom. If I was the cat, I would have run away long ago. I could see Carl turn a sharp corner down another hall, his eyes directly on Blue. I didn't know what was up with those two, but Carl was giving Blue a look that screamed, 'you're not going anywhere.' To save Blue from Carl, I walked into the ballroom, leading Blue where Carl couldn't find him.

(The last time I wrote this book, the ending wasn't as satisfying as I thought it could be. Therefore, I would like you to choose what angel you want a happy end with. That's right, I took the dream dating simulator, and made it into chose your own ending. Now, take this time to think about which angel you want and continue. Also, I will be adding a bonus chapter at the end, so stay tuned.)
