Kiana POV

"Mother why are you here!" Alec finally asked the question on everyone's mind as we all stood around the training room waiting for her to tell us why she blessed us all with her presence.

"About the institute no doubt" Izzy spoke not making any eye contact with her mother, they always did have a tricky relationship. "we'll talk about the institute later, right now we have a bigger problem. "Maryse said side glancing Izzy.

She began to walk around us all talking about how the seelies have cut communication with the clave and in all honesty I don't blame them "I have seelie friends" Izzy said chirping up looking relived she finally had something useful to give to hr mother "yes we know all about your seelie 'Friends', Isabelle we stay separate from the down world for good reasons, the wrong move the wrong word" she continued to drag on to Izzy I rolled my eyes Izzy was only trying to help and was shot down yet again by her 'mother'.

Maryse finally finished her long and boring speech about how we are terrible shadow hunters and finally give us all our tasks basically she came to boss us about typical Maryse.

"Kiana" Alec said as I began to walk towards the institute exit I spun on my heel holding a fake smile on my face "Alec" I said calmly "we need to talk" he said shyly stroking the back of his neck "we don't Alec, there is zero to talk about, I'm late I'm supposed to be somewhere" I said continuing to walk to the door he grabbed my arm "late for what where are you going" he said his eyebrows frowning "to see a friend Alec I need space from" I paused before saying what would most certainly hurt him and that was the last thing I wanted to do, Maryse appeared in the distance behind Alec staring at me I knew exactly what I needed to do "I need space from you Alec, we pushed the boundaries Alec and it has to stop I have to go" with one last look at Maryse behind him I left the institute.

Considering it was a beautiful sunny day outside in Brooklyn I couldn't just take the front door to the hotel de'mour so I took the tunnels were we escaped last time it was easy enough to find again and even easier sneaking past the sleeping vampires sometimes I wonder why people are so afraid of them they are kind of stupid sometimes my thought making me giggle quietly as I Walked he halls of the hotel "still making yourself laugh Princesa" I jumped slightly hearing his delicate Spanish accent behind me "I've warned you about sneaking up on me Raphael" I said scowling my face.

"I'm a little surprised to see you here" he said smirking "I called to tell you" I said shaking my head at him "I know I just didn't think you'd actually come and alone" "Well I needed space away from " I paused whilst waving my hands in the direction of the institute "that" I finished making his smirk grow into a smile. Rose a vampire madly in love with Raphael appeared at one of the doors "Raphael what is she doing here" his face tuned into a scowl "she's a guest Rose, my guest" he grunted "Relax Rose I'll be out of your way soon but until then kindly... you know piss off" I said folding my arms.

Rose scoffed and walked back into the room she came from "Damn Amore" he said his smirk returning to his face "I need a drink" I said walking off to Raphael's room knowing the way all too well but obviously he got there before me holding a drink in his hand as I pushed the door open " A drink belle (Beautiful)" I took the small glass from his hands and took a big mouthful of it before placing it back in his hands.

I walked my way to the sofa a lazily threw myself onto it "So Rose" I smirked as his shoulders tensed "she seemed awfully jealous just now" I said looking around the room seeing it was the exact same as when I used to stay here "do we have to talk about things like that, you know my heart will be forever yours Amore" he said lifting my legs on so he could sit down next to me gently placing my legs back down over his knees "you are funny Raph" I said now holding my phone in my hand "I wasn't joking" he whispered "I haven't heard you say that in a long time" he said louder this time confusing me "said what" I asked puzzled "Raph" his eyes met mine and I could have sworn I saw a tear in his eye but he looked away fast he knew I noticed.

My phone started to ring I stood up and walked away from the sofa to answer it, force of habit Raphael could still hear what was said "Where are you, Clary's missing we need to find her" Jace said on the phone I heard Alec asking where I was in the background "I'm with a friend" I said "another drink Amore" Raphael said from behind me I shook my head at him politely "please tell me I did not hear who I thought I heard" I tried to say in a hushed tone probably so Alec didn't hear. Jace finally told me where to meet them and ended the call.

"I have to go" I said quietly he stood in front of me and lifted his hand to my cheek gently rubbing his thumb "At least tell me I'll see you soon" he said softly pleading with his eyes "Maybe" he smiled and chuckled slightly he placed a soft kiss on my forehead making my body tense but slowly relax.

"Goodbye Raphael" he nodded and smiled before I closed the door and made my way out of the hotel.

Skip to Clary's apartment...

"Where have you been, I've been worried all day" Alec said storming up to me as I finally made it to Clary's apartment "I told you I was with a friend Alec there was nothing to be worried about" I could see Jace shooting me a disapproving look as I rolled my eyes at him "since your here can we do the parabiti tracking now, Clary is still missing" Jace said walking towards us before breaking our intense stare.

We began the tracking but was getting nothing "Alec concentrate" I said to him before trying it again "Alec" I said again moving my hand away "I'm trying, it's not working, we are getting nothing" he said looking back at Jace.

"Whoever took Clary and Simon must be holding them over a body of water" Jace said frustrated "that's why our tracking rune won't work" I said not looking at Alec I could feel his eyes burning into the back of my head.

Clary's phone rang in her back pack Jace answered in record time demanding who it was, his shoulders eased back after realising it was Simon.

We finally knew where they were... The Jade Wolf Chinese Restaurant
