Kiana POV

"Much better" Magnus said turning from the window the rumbling had now stopped and I presumed we were in a new place "Ugh, it's inevitable after each move I get the itch to redecorate, Normally I love a dirt lair, but this one is just sloppy" Magnus smiled whilst winking towards me.

Magnus continued to talk about something random however I did notice that he'd given the necklace back to Izzy, which I guess is a good thing for all of us.

Clary broke us all off from talking by stomping over to everyone "okay, so how do we summon the memory demon?" "Are you certain" magnus asked her I knew how dangerous this was we all did expect Clary obviously she never thinks anythings dangerous "summoning such a powerful demon could be lethal" Magnus finished warning her "I'll do anything to save my mother" Clary said I rolled my eyes earning a scoff from her.

I understand everything Clary is doing and wants to do to save her mother but I just have a hard time agreeing with her putting everyone in so much danger just for herself. I had zero connection with my mother I swear I must have been a mistake when she gave birth to me, I was shipped off to a boarding school at the age of 1 years old spent most of my childhood causing mischief there until my mother was killed or should I say murdered by ... yep you guessed it my dad.

I never knew my dad either. He was barely home when I was away from school and everytime I did see him he'd never acknowledge I was there.

11 years old was when Alec'sand Izzy's mother took me in apparently she was a close friend of my mothers which was strange as my mother didn't seem like she was the type to make friends if you get what I mean "Kia" Alec said causing me to jump straight out of my train of thought "are you alright" he said pulling me to one side "yeah I'm fine" I said back about to walk away to the others he grabbed my arm and pulled me back in front of him "What have I done because you have barely said a word to me all day Kiana" he said his eyes pleading with me.

"don't be silly Alec you've done nothing wrong I promise"

Time skipped and we are now all gathered in our spots round this pentagram thing Clary drew which to be fair looked pretty good.

"we must initiate a bond once this bond is sealed it can not be broken until the demon retreats. no matter what happens we must not let go of each other's hands"

Alec and Magnus both reached for my hands Izzy across from me noticing and smirking I just gave her my famous eye roll I am not dealing with dreadful boy drama that's definitely not my fortay.

A small shock came up both my arms at the same time it felt like a wave of strong energy moving through my veins it past through the others each of them clearly feeling the shock as the other touched there hand "oh please, your being pathetic" Izzy said chuckling until Clary grabbed her hand and she jumped when she felt the connection.

"I will lead the ceremony and you all must do exactly as I say, the demon's name is Valak" Magnus explained however for some reason I already felt like I knew the information he was telling us all like I had heard it somewhere before "and at some point he will ask for payment in exchange for Clary's memories" Magnus continued to explain in a dramatic voice he was clearly just trying to freak everyone out it clearly worked as well.

"what do you mean? what kind of payment?" Jace said sounding slightly panicked "we will see" Magnus replied back to him with a smirk kind of made me smile how much he didn't let things faze him.

"let's begin" Magnus said as he began to chant in Chthonian a language used among warlocks and witches the one thing my father did teach me when I was young was how to understand and speak Chthonian he always said having a rare voice filled with different languages would be useful one day I guess he was right about one thing.

"the necklace. It's pulsing" Izzy said surprised everyone now looking at the bright pulsing ruby.

The demon appeared out of nowhere and made its way down into the circle. I could feel the darkness pushing against my hands that were latched onto Alec and Magnus. The demon definitely wanted out of the circle.

"Valak is among us, do not break the bond" Magnus shouted over the growling coming from the giant black shadow.

"hold on" Jace shouted at clary she was having a hard time keeping hold of Jace's hand which personally I didn't think she'd have a problem with "it is time, the demon demands payment" Magnus announced "what does it want?" Alec asked loudly "we must each relinquish a beloved memory of the one we love the most"

Izzy released a memory of Alec laughing to the demon, Clary by no surprise released a memory of her mum, Jace released a memory of me Alec and Izzy laughing together then it was Alec's turn and could see the panic in his eyes there was something wrong.

Alec's memory was released to the demon, for sure I thought I was going to see Izzy up there she is his sister after all but when I myself smiling and laughing I was confused we were supposed to reveal who we loved the most Alec freak and I felt him try to let go of my hand "Alec no" Izzy shouted "the demon deceived me " he shouted trying to let go of me and Jace "Alec its okay" tried to tell him but he was having none of it he broke away from my hand and broke the bond.

The demon became hectic it through us all back into the walls painfully I hit my head hard against the wooden floor feeling the back of my head was slightly wet but I didn't dare look at my hand I knew it was blood I looked over to Alec seeing him panicked then I looked back to Magnus he was trying his hardest to contain the demon that was so hectic I knew his magic couldn't hold it much longer.

Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Alec move towards the demon my instinct kicked in and I lept in front of him to push him back but the demon latched onto me pulling me towards itself Jace leapt forward grabbing onto my hand followed closely by Alec and Izzy. The demon was strong and I could feel my mind going fuzzy.

"the demon is growing stronger" I heard magnus shout loudly from somewhere I was getting pulled deeper and deeper into the demon "Clary help us" Izzy screamed Clary stood in shock for a moment before doing the one thing that really had caught me be surprised she pulled out her blade and held it tight a fierce look on her face.

"Clary, if you kill the demon your memories will be lost forever" Magnus warned her she was gonna kill it she couldn't.

She walked towards the demon, turned and stabbed the blade straight into it sending it into flames.

The demon threw us all, making us land on the floor hard. The last thing I heard was Alec screaming my name before everything turned black.
