Alec POV

"What did you expect her to say to you Alec" Jace said from beside me, "we all know the relationship you too have is more than it should be and now that has to stop" Jace paused for a second "when you marry you won't be her parabiti anymore the rune will fade and the connection will be lost, she gets no choice in the matter Alec she's bound to be pissed off"

"I know, I know that she's hurting and I wish marrying would be the very last option but right now it seems the only option for my family, for my parents. I can't just turn my back on Jace" I said to him, running my hands forcefully through my hair.

Just as Jace was about to say something else Izzy appeared at the door "she's back" Izzy chirped and left, we both knew she meant Kiana.

Both me and Jace got up and walked towards the door "give her time Alec, she'll come around" He said I nodded my head at him and both walked towards the front of the institute."you've been gone ages Kiana" I said in a dull tone, she rolled her eyes "I went to see a friend, I am allowed to leave Alec" she snapped at me.

I looked at the suit jacket draped over her shoulders i knew exactly who her friend was "Raphael" I said "yes Alec i was with Raphael, because whether you like it or not he's a friend and one who actually sits and listens to me rant and shout and cry without saying anything without questioning and without judging, and when you drop a bombshell on me I needed a friend that wasn't you to talk to" she said taking a deep breath, she looked at everyone now looking at her before storming off down the corridor,slamming her fist into one of the doors whilst walking past.

"Brother, I know you're trying to do the right thing but you're doing it the complete wrong way, and she's gonna walk away" Jace said before walking in the direction of Kiana.

I walked to Izzy's room and sat at the edge of here bed whilst she sat at her dresser "what am i doing wrong Iz" I said with my hands in my lap "Alec " she paused "it's not what your doing wrong, it's what your not doing at all, have you spoken to Kiana about Lydia, did you ask her how she was feeling, did you give her a heads up, did you even introduce them" she continued as she walked towards me.

"Shes your parabiti, and you love her and she loves you, and your marrying another woman, surely you can see how that's gonna affect her, she fears she will lose you and your proving her right, you know Raphael is not a bad guy especially when it comes to her you can't blame her for wanting to see him"

"You will only hear me say this one time Izzy, but you're right" I said with a small smile and she laughed "go talk to her Alec , and i mean talk not shout".

I walked straight out of Izzys room and walked towards Kiana's as i walked she walked out of her door walking towards me with a small sad smile, in that moment i wanted to scoop her up and hold her without ever letting go, just as i went to reach for her Lydia appeared in front of me smiling and i saw Kiana freeze.

She was near exactly who Lydia was.
