It took far longer than any of them would like before they got to Chris and Levi's house. Several times, they had to pause to talk the little girl out of turning herself in, and others they had to hide from Overhaul's men, who were scouring the area for them.

Naoko may always be at least partially ready to throw down, but that didn't really apply to the rest of her little group... Not to mention the fact that the poor girl (who Mag eventually swiped from Naoko thanks to her still shit endurance) didn't need to be involved in yet another fight, it was clear to anyone with eyes that she was already blaming herself enough as it was.

Thankfully for Naoko, neither Dabi nor Mag realized just where they were going, and as Naoko knocked three times quickly and two times spaced out, they simply stared between the deaf one, and the one who seemed to be playing dead at the moment.

The main thing going through both of their minds at that precise second was the fact that they had, in fact, kidnapped a whole ass child. Legit swiped her off the street from under the nose of her abusive guardian. Like... What even were their lives now? They accepted being villains, but this? It was its own category, and it was really fucking confusing.

Before anyone had a chance to fall too far into an existential crisis, the door flew open, scaring the crap out of everyone, especially since it was Rei at the door, rather than the owners of the house.

The fear in her eyes... This poor woman never got a break, did she?

"Rei?" Naoko stepped forward, something was off here... She shouldn't know where this place was... Why was she here? What had happened?

Of course, Rei was somber as could be, "The apartment was attacked."

There were a lot of things that could happen at that moment, but none of them did. It took a solid ten seconds for Naoko to process what had happened, and even then, she still didn't quite understand. The police said they'd be keeping a close eye on the place... Obviously, it wasn't too good, because two of Japan's Most Wanted had been living there for several days, but still. All Might had given his word, the detective with him... Heck, even the dog had told her that they'd be watching to make sure nothing bad would happen.

So how?

Mag gasped loudly, making the small child curl in on herself further, and Dabi groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose at that.

Naoko found she couldn't speak, her mouth hanging open. If Rei was here, had Hasame...? Oh god... Was she going to find out that she'd lost someone else?

As the only one with their head screwed on right, Rei looked around suspiciously, "Hurry up and come in, we don't want to give them a chance to find us again."

It all felt so surreal as Naoko was gently pushed into the house. Everything in her wanted to ask, no, to beg Rei to tell her if Hasame was alive, but she couldn't. Her breathing began to pick up and the room around her blurred, fading slowly in and out of awareness.

She certainly didn't have the wherewithal to notice a blue-haired streak running towards her until she was almost knocked off her feet, propped up only by Dabi, Hasame clinging to her as though she was about to disappear.

It was a sweet moment... Well... It was sweet until Hasame's hands found themselves wrapped around Naoko's neck.

Naoko was smart, but she underestimated Hasame's rage, and the worst part was that she couldn't even be mad. At this point, after the... What was it? Her 6th near-fatal event? And now she had apparently brought the rest of her family into it? This was a new low for her.
