LIYUE WAS BEAUTIFUL to say the very least. The glow of orange lights lifted into the air made the harbor even more ethereal. Each lantern glittered like stars, floating higher and higher into the night sky. Excited chatter of the people enjoying the festivities could be heard everywhere. The smell of spices wafted through the air. Liyue was truly breathtaking.

"Pretty, isn't it?" You whispered, admiring the glorious light show with a smile. Beside you was Xiao; normally he would never come to the harbor but such an occasion, he couldn't resist taking you. "Beautiful, indeed." His golden eyes almost glimmered like wet jewels with the glow of orange in the sky. Topaz colored orbs decorated with a thousand yellow stars.

A soft breeze whisked by, picking up the flickering lights further upwards towards Celestia. You turned to face the Guardian Yaksha with a grin. "I'm surprised. Ganyu told me that you never approach the harbor."

Xiao turned to you, his shoulder length side bangs swayed with the wind. "I wished to be by your side to witness this." He admitted quietly, a tinge of pink rising to his cheeks. You laughed, smiling at the Adeptus. Ever since you met him that day at Wangshu Inn, he had been incredibly kind to you. Ganyu informed you that it was likely because you resembled a old love of his and possessed their spirit. Despite having known him for such a short time, you've truly grown to love Xiao back.

He's protected you numerous of times; instructing you to call his name if you ever need help. He often told you stories of your past life with him and a part of you felt guilty for not being able to recall memories or feelings of the past but he would just smile and tell you that even if you didn't remember him, he's more than thankful to have you back.

And you knew he was being genuine. Ganyu and Ping has spoken to you quite a few times about this; of how much Xiao would smile around you. His demeanor was quite cold towards Ganyu (during her trials of becoming a true Adeptus again) but he never expressed such coldness towards you.

"Did I get to see this in my past life?" You asked, turning back to admire the scenery. In the corner of your eye, you noticed him shaking his head. "You were stubborn and refused to leave your home."

A laughter escaped your throat. "Yup, sounds like me."

"It's a quality of yours that will never change. I'm grateful for that... Grateful that Celestia reunited us once more." He muttered quietly, allowing another gust of wind to brush by. "Xiao?" You glanced over before feeling a pair of strong arms wrapped tightly around your waist.  A momentary of peace wafted over you, allowing yourself a briefness in quietness with him.

Your eyes fluttered closed, your body relaxed against his as you also embraced him close. Arms out stretched and wrapped around his toned waist. "I've waited centuries... To see you again." You felt his body tremble in which your grasp on his body tightened. His hands grasped at your clothes as he quietly confessed. "I would wait centuries more... My only wish is to be with you once more."

"Xiao..." You muttered his name, gently brushing your fingers through his locks of green hair. "This is pathetic of me... So pathetic for an Adeptus like me to be reduced to this state." He cursed at himself angrily.

"You're not pathetic. If anything, I'm the pathetic one to have left you alone for all those years..." You felt his head lift from your lap, his topaz eyes wide in bewilderment. "I'm sorry I left you. I promise I'll stay you forever." It wasn't a promise that you could guarantee but it made him crack the smallest of smiles at your words. A thousand words could not describe the beauty you witness before you. His jade hair swaying in the winds, illuminated by soft glow of golden luminescence. Wet topaz eyes that shone gorgeously. Along with Liyue, he was a spectacle indeed.

"Thank you, (y/n)..." He paused in his words before lifting himself up and pressing a kiss against your forehead. "Welcome home." He whispered, pulling back to gently brush any stray hair from your face. You smiled sheepishly and nodded before leaning into his touch.

"I'm glad to be home again."
