Callie had decided to not show her loyalties to either team. Instead she wore skinny jeans, black boots, and a gray and white form fitting shirt that was a longer cut. Madison was wearing a red Clippers shirt that had DJ’s name and number on the back.
“That’s what you’re wearing?” Madison asked her friend after she walked out of the bathroom.
“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?” Callie asked looking back at her reflection in the mirror. She had flat ironed her light brown hair and had gone lighter on her makeup.“You don’t look like you’re going to a game,” Madison smirked at her.
“Okay first of all my loyalty lies with the Thunder, second of all we’re sitting with the other player wives and girlfriends so no I’m not gonna wear Thunder gear, and finally I’m not dressing to impress anyone but myself,” Callie defended.
“Uh huh,” Madison said turning on her heel to grab her purse and anything else she would need.
“Don’t uh huh me,” Callie sighed grabbing her phone and throwing it in her purse. “How am I getting in?”“I would assume the same way I am. DJ said he took care of it,” Madison said as the girls walked out to her car. “Are you nervous?”
“Nervous about what? I just came to watch my Thunder play,” Callie said nonchalantly.
“You do know Kevin Durant is hurt right?” Madison said as she backed out into the street.
“So. He’ll be back and they’ll be awesome,” Callie smiled sitting back in her seat.Madison rolled her eyes. Callie could play all she wanted to, but Madison was so on to her. She may not have dressed to impress anyone but herself, but Madison was smart enough to know Callie wasn’t the only one that was going to be impressed.
Madison navigated them through the early rush hour traffic as they were, for the most part, going the opposite way. The crowd around Staples wasn’t too bad considering it was still kinda early. Madison drove into the lot that was designated for players family and friends and turned off the car.
“Ready?” She smiled over at Callie.
“Yeah,” Callie nodded grabbing her purse and slinging it over her shoulder as she got out of the car.
They could see the reporters that were milling around the lot. Callie laughed at the annoyed look on Madison’s face.
“I take it we’re not friendly with the press?” Callie laughed.
“Maybe we can make it in without a million questions,” Madison said walking faster.
Callie was right behind her as the got to the backdoor of the Staples Center. Just like in Vegas the girls showed their ID’s and they were let inside.
“Now what?” Callie asked her friend.
