Callie woke up the next morning feeling like she hadn’t even slept at all. She looked over at her phone and imagined she probably had a few people to get back to by now, but that was the last thing she wanted to do. She rolled out of bed and straight to the bathroom turning on the shower as hot as she could stand.

It would figure that just when things were starting to turn around for her and life was going on a somewhat normal path Liam would strike again. This wasn’t the first time he had done this. Up to now she had managed to keep all that from the girls.

Stripping out of her clothes Callie got in under the hot spray. She wanted to scream at the thoughts that were swirling around in her head. She could just kill Liam. She wanted to be back with her friends and her family. Truth be told she wanted to be around Blake again too, but she wouldn’t readily admit that to just anyone.

She sighed feeling the tears rolling down her cheeks mixing with the water that was running down her. She needed to get it together.

Deciding she would call Paige, one of her friends she had met at the school in Texas, and see if she wanted to hang out, she hurried through her shower.

Callie grabbed her phone off the table and unplugged it from the charger. Just like she thought she had a handful of missed texts and calls. The one that shocked her the most was the text from Tracy.

Hey Callie. We would definitely still love to have you out here. We could just bypass the interview since we obviously already know you and how you work. Give me a call when you can and we can work out the details.

Callie sighed sitting down on the edge of the bed and pulling the towel she had wrapped around her up. Should she take that as a sign? She continued going through her messages, half of which were from Madison, three were from Blake.

Madison told me what he said. I just need to know you’re okay.

Please talk to me.....

Okay I get it. You need time to process everything, especially now. I would be the same way. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do. I feel so helpless knowing you’re hurting right now....

Callie sighed falling back on her bed. She would be lying to you if she said she wasn’t wishing he was just a couple flights up the stairs away from her right now. It was nice to feel like he was trying to protect her, but at the same time she wasn’t sure she wanted his protection. She barely knew him.

“And who’s fault is that Callie?” She asked herself out loud.

She pulled up Samantha’s contact and pressed call. Hopefully Sam would be able to give her some insight as to what the hell she needed to do.

“Hey girl,” Samantha smiled into the phone.

“Hey. Have you talked to Madison?” Callie asked hoping she wasn’t going to have to rehash everything that had happened with Liam yet again.

“Yeah I know what that asshole sent you. Some fucking nerve,” Samantha said er voiced laced with anger.
