Callie was ecstatic. They were in Memphis and she was picking Madison up from the airport. Madison had gotten away fro work earlier than she had expected and she decided to go ahead and join the team early. She missed her man and her friend. With the way things were going with Blake the last few days, Callie definitely needed some girl time. Jada had caved with Chris leaving Callie as the only standing strong on not sleeping with Blake. When Madison called Callie to let her know her plans to come out early, Callie was definitely in favor of her coming out as soon as possible. Of course she knew she would get no sympathy from Madison, but at least she would have someone to vent to.
Blake was in a horrible mood since they had left Florida. Callie couldn't figure out why. The team seemed to be gelling and they had won both games on the road trip so far. Memphis was a divisional game though and she knew he was definitely focused on getting the win against the Grizzlies. Nonetheless he wasn't very friendly to her. She was racking her brain trying to think of anything she could do to make him feel better, besides giving it up of course.
She pulled her phone out of her bag and scrolled through her contacts until she found Brynn's name. This was definitely a hail mary on her part and could definitely backfire and upset Blake even more, but she had to try.
Callie looked out the window as she pressed call and she still didn't see Madison anywhere. Hopefully she would get through this phone call before being busted by her friend.
"Hello?" Brynn asked answering the call.
"Hey Brynn it's Callie," Callie smiled as a little bit of the nervousness she was feeling started to fade.
"Hey girl how are you?"
"I'm good. Listen, I don't know what the holiday schedule is like between you and Blake for Ford, to be honest we haven't really talked about anything when it comes to he time he gets with him, but he's kind of in a mood and I'm desperate at this point," Callie explained.
"Believe me I understand his moods," Brynn laughed. "Actually we've never really worked out a set schedule so to speak. He has him pretty much whenever he wants him around his schedule,"
"Is there any possible way we can get him to Oklahoma for even a little bit of Thanksgiving?" Callie asked finally getting to the point of why she had called the woman in the first place.
"We are celebrating Thanksgiving with my family the night before because my brother will be out of town on Thanksgiving so I'm sure we could make that work,"
"You have no idea how grateful I am for that Brynn," Callie smiled.
"No problem. I will just fly out there with him and then turn around and fly back. I'm looking at Blake's schedule and you guys should be back in LA that weekend. Why don't you just keep him with you for the end of the road trip or if Blake's parents want him until you guys go to Utah that would work out too," Brynn said looking at the Clippers schedule on her ipad.
"That's way more than I was expecting, but I think that would be great. I will plan on coming to the airport to get him in Oklahoma City. Let me know when you have your flight details," Callie said smiling and waiving at Madison who had just walked out of the airport looking for her friend.
