Cardo leads you to a large room down the hallway from the living area. The lights are blinding bright, and you have to squint to make out the large desk, sodering equipment, and shelves upon shelves of weapons, gadgets, plasma charges, and bits of scrap parts. The air is stale and smells of metal and oil.

Cardo struts over to the table, obstructing your view. Before he turns around, he says, "Okay, close your eyes."

You bite your lip to hold back the huge grin at his overexcitement, and shut your eyes tight, holding your hands out.

A weapon is placed in your hands. A little heavy, and thick and round. Cardo takes a short pause.

"Okay, open."

"Whoa." You huff.

Your new weapon is shaped like a club, but narrower, made of dense, black metal. There's two small switches near the handle, then your gaze takes in the top- the business end. About eight inches from the end is a circular, jagged blade that encases the metal club, then another, smaller one, a few inches later, and right around the end is a smooth edged one barely extending an inch passed the metal.

You let your smile bloom as you examine it from all angles. You're unfamiliar with the type of fighting style you'll need to adopt to use this, but your heart sings as you think of all the damage you could do once you're comfortable.

Cardo is nearly bouncing on his toes. "Those are vibroblades, that's this switch there."

Then he points to the other switch, taking a half step back. "Go ahead, try it! I know you like to spin and jab, so I added another feature."

You hold the weapon properly, and hesitantly flip the small switch. Two long, shiny silver knife blades come jutting out on either side of the club, about halfway between your hands and the first round blade.

You let out a shaky laugh, feeling overwhelmed by it's perfect construction. You flip the switch, retracting the blades, and hold the weapon down to your side as you rush at Cardo, throwing one arm around his bulky, muscular back.

He doesn't really hug you back, but gives you a light pat on your shoulder. You pull away quickly, eyes sparking. "Thank you, Cardo."

He just grins. "Wanna go give it a test drive? I haven't tested it yet..."

You nod enthusiastically, and he runs to a shelf, grabbing a long, dingy, metal staff, and you make your way to the gym.

Kuruk is in the corner of the gym working out, and when he sees what's in your hands, he comes rushing up to you, his eyes flashing between the weapon, your face, and Cardo's.

"Looks good." He nods to Cardo.

He stands to the side as you and Cardo go to the center of the room. He spends a few moments demonstrating, and helping you learn a few new moves.
