Sneaking back into the quarters from Master's, you slide into bed noiselessly. But Vicrul scoots over, wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you back into his chest. He sighs into your hair.

"Was it worth it?" his voice is thick as it cracks.

You swallow, your mind now processing all the possible consequences at lightspeed. "I don't know yet... Are you mad at me?"

"No. Not unless you start thinking you're better than us because you're fucking the boss."

"I don't think I'll ever be as good as the rest of you."

He pinches the skin on the back of your arm. "If I was awake, I'd punch you in the fucking mouth. You'll never get better with that attitude. You have to want it. Really work for it... Maybe you should spend some time with the Ren, meditating with it and learning your place in this galaxy. You don't see yourself clearly, Ducky."

You frown in the darkness. Less than a minute later, his breathing evens out and his arm relaxes over your stomach. There's too much to think about to fall asleep, exhausted as you are. You're still finding your place in the Knights of Ren, navigating tricky relationship dynamics as it is, then you go and fuck the leader. Was it worth it?...There's no doubt you'll be going back, but what is it that he wants from you? He doesn't seem like the type to let anyone in, or even small talk about his day. He'll never comfort you when you're upset, never spend time with you without his cock slamming into you.

You wonder what Vicrul means by meditating with the Ren. The crystal in Master's lightsaber can't tell you what to do...can it? On top of everything else, there's this strange, foreign voice in your head telling you not to trust your master, that he can't help you tap into more power, that he's weak. Is it your conscience? Was it wrong to join the knights?

You resolve yourself to ask Master about the Ren as soon as you see him next. Then you drift into an uneasy sleep, dreaming of arguments, of a flashing blue light in the darkness, of a glowing red lightsaber.

You don't see Master for two weeks. You start to lose track of time. Your days are consumed with training. You follow Vicrul's advice, focusing on becoming the best knight you can be. Morning and night, you run through the corridors, learning the intricacies of your helmet settings as you do so. Your muscles start to really bulk up under Cardo's supervision.

You mostly train with Ap'lek, learning deception and light-footed strategies. He shows you how to assess the strengths and weaknesses of your opponents. And a few times, you knock him on his ass with a triumphant grin on your face.

Vicrul and Ushar take up the responsibility of training you with your weapon. Vicrul with his scythe, and Ushar with his electric club, work you hard until you're more comfortable with your bladed club.
