"You swiped a grenade at me Rogers!"

Iola was seething. After Steve directed the grenade, he didn't realise that it headed straight towards Iola, leaving her barely any time to get cover before it exploded. The explosion had left a scatter of shards of glass and shrapnel lodged within her leg, and the high-pitched buzz of hearing damage.

It wasn't until after the explosion did Steve and Natasha realise that Iola was still in the comms room.

"Iola you know it wasn't intentional."

Steve was swallowed with guilt. She could have died if she didn't find cover as quick as she did, and that would be on him. He is normally more careful, but the anger that rippled through him after discovering that both of the top agents on the mission had missions of their own had clouded his judgement.

"Do you think I care? I still got badly injured, and you didn't realise until after."

Silence fell over the room. Fury sat with his feet upon his desk as he watched the two argue. What Steve had done was wrong, but Iola wasn't careful about her side of the mission.

"You're both in the wrong." Fury started, Iola's eyes snapping to his, her eyes ignited with rage.

Is he fucking joking?!

"Rogers, be more careful of your surroundings. Iola is right, she still got injured as a result of your ill decision making. Iola, you should have been more careful about what you were doing, not focusing on the other two in front of you, data downloading doesn't take much initiative."

"This isn't the issue here- " Steve started, before Iola cut in to make a snide comment.

"It should be."

"- the issue is that you just can't stop yourself from lying Fury."

Fury sat up in his chair as Steve advanced towards the desk, forgetting about his guilt and letting the disbelief rush over him.

"I didn't lie, Agent's Romanoff and Hyde had a different mission than yours."

Steve scoffed in disbelief.

"Which you didn't feel obliged to share."

"I'm not obliged to do anything."

Iola rolled her eyes at them. The one thing about Steve Rogers that drove the blonde up the wall was his intent on being in charge, and when anyone disobeys him, its like the whole world is falling apart. He was the greatest soldier in history yes, but it's not all about him.

"Will you two cut it out. Compartmentalisation is shit yes, but it's life Steve. I trust Fury with my life, so should you." Iola announced.

The two men looked over to her. Steve knew she was right, and he hated her for it. She's always right.
