The fall was silent, Iola not having the lungs to scream or brace herself for the impact at the bottom. Her heartbeat was all she heard in her ears, thumping so loud that the wind whistling as they fell was a distant whisper.

She watched as the Captain got closer and closer to the ground. She analysed the impact. Glass would go everywhere after plummeting through the roof, Steve would land face down with the shield absorbing the shock of the landing. She wouldn't't have such protection.

Before she knew it, there was a beautiful crash, the sparkle of sharded glass in the sun and they Captain landed seconds before she did. Her body landed with a thump, the tiles beneath her cracking from the impact, every fibre of her body on fire. Iola rolled away from Steve's figure, not realising how dizzy she would feel.

Steve huffed as he dragged himself up from the ground, watching as Iola did the same. They needed out of here and needed out of here fast.

As if Iola read his mind, they both started to sprint towards the garage.

The flicker of the dull yellow lights against his pale sweaty skin made the Winter Solider look ghostly. His eyes dark from the lack of emotion, a body simply there fore complete control, and to have his own thoughts seemed like treason.

He sat hunched over on his bed, his hair falling before his face.

He recognised the girl. He had worked with her, side by side, when HYDRA was expanding. But this time she was different.

Instead of the icy cold blue eyes he knew, they new sparkled with emotion, purpose.

He envied her.

He sat up abruptly.

I envy her. That's an emotion.

His eyes widened in panic, as he rose to stand. The squeak of the cell door opened, and Alexander Pierce walked in.

The suit clad man noticed the Soldier's stance, one of defence, one of panic.

"I have a new mission for you."

The Soldier's head turned towards him. Should he ask why she wasn't with him? Should he wonder why he let her go?

"Soldier."

Pierce's voice broke through the thoughts in his head.

The man eyed the shirtless solider in front of him. He then called upon the various white coats that stood outside the cell.
