"I'm Gabriel, archangel, who the hell are you?"

Dean frowns, fear threatening to make him retreat. The angel's grace assaults him from every angle and he can feel his own grace snarl and try to fight against it. Dean swallows refusing to allow his voice to crack. "Move away from the angel." He tries to keep eye contact with Gabriel but they instinctively drift to Castiel, worry pulling his mouth down as the angel's eyes flutter closed.

Gabriel raises his eyebrow at him condescendingly, his smirk stretching wider across his face as he assesses the human in front of him. Dean watches as amusement crosses over the angels face clearly contemplating whether or not he wants to comply with the demand. Gabriel's eyes glance to Castiel then back to Dean before he pushes Castiel away causing the angel to stumble and Dean's entire body flinches forwards. Gabriel catches Castiel, his eyes sparklingly cruelly. "Unless you want me to drop him I think I'll stay where I am."

Dean's nostrils flare at the wave of possessiveness that rushes through him. He bites the inside of his cheek to keep his grace in check and takes a step closer to Castiel. "Move." He demands. Gabriel shrugs, raising his hands in fake surrender and snaps his fingers. The sigil disappears from beneath him instantaneously as he steps away from Castiel allowing him to slump forwards. Dean's grace reaches the angel before him and caresses Castiel's being, holding him midair until Dean is by his side.

Dean's hand cups Castiels face as the angel leans against him. Before Dean can think his grace is wrapping around Castiel soothing his wounds and healing him until he can stand alone. Dean sighs heavily, relieved that Castiel is alright.

"So you're Dean huh?" Dean startles, spinning on his heels to look in the direction of the voice. Gabriel is stretched out across Bobby's sofa languidly looking around the small room. Dean moves in front of Castiel as Bobby moves in front of him, now armed with his shotgun and aiming it at the archangel. Dean scowls.

"How'd you know who I am?" Gabriel's head tilts at him, rolling his eyes as they slide to the barrel of Bobby's shotgun. He blinks and suddenly Bobby's shotgun has disappeared from between his fingers.

"The hell?" Bobby growls. Dean feels his face contort and fear weighs him down for a split second before he straightens up and steps towards the angel.

For a moment Gabriel's eyes sparkle, a hint of mischief and excitement peaking out from behind his nonchalant expression. And then Castiel is grabbing his arm. "Dean stop." Immediately Dean turns around to support the angel as he still struggles to catch his breath. Dean shakes his head silently asking. Castiel clears his throat, using Deans shoulder to help him stand up straighter. "He's not a threat. He helped me escape." Dean glances back at Gabriel, frowning at the smug grin on his face.

"Escape from where, where the hell have you been? What happened?" Dean swallows hard at the lump sitting in his throat. Fear rising as he waits for his thoughts to be confirmed that he endangered Castiel and forced him somewhere he shouldn't have been. His eyes dart around Castiel's face as he tries to decipher the angel's expression.

"I ended up in heaven." The guilt ripples throughout him landing in his gut and makes his stomach twist uncomfortable and heavy inside of him. Dean swallows, his mouth dry.

"Cas I-"

"It's fine." Castiel cuts him off, severing all contact as he walks past him and to Gabriel. Dean recoils unintentionally, surprised at the angel's reaction. He frowns as the guilt makes its way up his throat. Stung, his gaze drops to the ground to avoid staring at Castiel's back.

"Are they able to track our location?" Castiel asks. The 'they' in question aren't named but it's fairly easy to work out who he means, as the room seems to fall heavier with a layer of tension. Gabriel glances up at Castiel and is instantly standing, smirking at the angel. "Don't worry Cassie you and your little pet are safe. I think you're forgetting I'm in hiding, they can't track me unless I want them to." Dean bristles at the term and takes a slow calming breath. He huffs, moving beside Bobby.
