"Come on dumb ass." Xavier was standing in the door way with his gun in one hand, a knife in the other, and blood all over his clothes and face. "We don't have all day! Let's go!" I stood up and made my way over to him.
"Did you at least find anything?" Xavier asked. I dropped the bag and shoved it into him.
"You're carrying it, I'm too tired." I started to walk off and noticed all the Walkers that had surrounded the area dead. Including the men who were shooting at me. "You did all this?"
"And me." Said a feminine voice. Ariel came around the corner of the car with my aluminum baseball bat in hand. She was wearing my sister's clothing, which actually made Ariel looking pretty sexy.
"I was surprised too." Xavier walked up next to me. "Ariel picked it out herself, when I saw her use it. Damn." He chuckled.
"Hope you don't mind me using it?" Ariel asked, the bat behind her neck with her arms wrapped around it.
"Of course not, keep it." I responded.
"Go get your car. Ariel take the one we brought here back home, I'll grab the sentry truck. It might come in handy." Xavier instructed.
I walked back to the alleyway with my MK18 drawn. All the Walkers were laid out on the floor and the bodies I had came here to burn were now torn to pieces on the asphalt.
I hopped into the truck and backed out of the alleyway. Xavier signaled me to lead the way back home, then Ariel followed while the young sniper took the rear. The drive was peaceful, the sun was in the sky with a few clouds overhead. As I turned to look around I could see a few Walkers roaming around the small farms nearby.
It wasn't a long ride before we had reached back to my house, or at least it didn't feel like it. I pulled into the drive way while Ariel did the same. Xavier pulled up at the sidewalk and went up to the sentry gun. "It's paramilitary," Xavier had said as I walked up to him. He swiveled the turret and looked down the iron sights. "Question is, how did they get it?"
"There is an army surplus about forty miles from here, but that's not important." I answered back.
"Really?" Xavier asked as he hopped out of the bed of the truck. "Then what is?"
"It's been over a week since this started. I don't know if any of my family, or friends are alive. But I have to at least try and find them." I said to Xavier. He turned and looked at me.
"Let me guess, there is no way I'm gonna stop you, right?" He asked. I just nodded my head.
"I told my sister if anything bad were to happen at home or anywhere, head to this pharmacy a family friend owns." Xavier just nodded his head.
"Where's the pharmacy?" Xavier asked.
"In Boston." I replied. I immediately noticed his expression as I mentioned the city.
"That place is filled with Walker. Thousands of them. You really want to face that?" He asked.
"I would do anything for my family," I responded. "even if that meant going to face the devil himself."
"A bit dramatic but I understand." Xavier said. "You know I'm not gonna come with you."
"Yeah I know, from what you told me it doesn't seem very pleasant. Wouldn't expect you to come with me." I answered.
"Well you should ask Ari-"
"No," I had cut him off. "You need someone with you. She'll be good for you." I motioned my head towards her. Xavier didn't say anything, he just hung his head low and nodded. "I'll take the sedan. Maybe some fuel from the truck."
"Why don't you take the sentry truck? Could come in handy out there with all the dead." Xavier suggested.
"No I don't think so. I can't drive and man the gun, I don't want to have to stop and fire. Could cause more problems." I told Xavier.
"Alright, when are you going to leave?" Xavier asked, realizing he had lost this argument.
"Tomorrow, that way I'll have the entire day, instead of a few hours." Suddenly a growling sound came from behind me. I looked back and saw three Walkers limping towards us, their mangled limbs hanging loosely by their side.
I started to unsheathe my knife, but Xavier grabbed my arm. "I got them, just go check up on Ariel, tell her you're leaving." I placed the knife back and walked inside, letting Xavier take care of the dead. Then I realized something.
Those Walkers I have killed, I could've known them. I never stopped to look at their faces because I just want to survive, but now I realized it. I could've been killing people I knew.
I just shook the thought from my head. I do what I have to do, to survive.
I opened the door and made my way to Ariel.

The sun had just rose and my stuff was already packed up and in the car. Xavier was waiting by the door, looking out the window just beside it. I looked at him, his eyes hardened, searching for the slightest movement.
"You're clear." Xavier said as he placed his hand on my shoulder. "Watch your ass out there."
I nodded my thanks and opened the door. I went to the car and did a quick run through my bag.
-Mk 18 and Osprey with ammunition
-Sleeping bag
-Food and water (two week supply)
-Weaver Knife (Xavier and I switched knives, he thought I needed a longer and sharper one)
-Med kit and fire starter
-Map
-Extra gas
I was all good and went to the driver's seat. The drive to Boston would take a while, but this way I have a chance of seeing my family. I started backing out of the drive and took off towards the city. After about two hours of taking back roads I finally got onto the highway, and was beyond astonished to see what was before.
I completely stopped the car and got out. The highway to the city was empty. Not one car was on the highway leading to Boston, but hundreds of cars were on the other side, leaving the city. They were burnt up, wrecked, and the stench of death rolled off of them. I looked behind me and then towards the front again, nothing.
I hopped back into the car and started driving down the highway. Closing in on Boston fast, and the possibilities started to become endless.
This was just the start.
