The Next Day...

I opened the door of my house and started to place the bodies of the men we had killed in the back of their trucks. Even though I didn't look affected from last night, my stomach was now in a constant ball.

I took someone's life. Even though it was to save someone else's, it just didn't sit right with me.

So far I had placed all the bodies in the back of one truck, but then I spotted the boy who had held the knife up to Ariel's neck. For him, I felt no sympathy. He was he type of person made for this world, no rules, no remorse. I grabbed his body and chucked it in the back as well and went to the driver's seat.

The keys were on the dashboard that were now steaming hot from the sun that shines through the windshield. As I turned on the car I glanced at the fuel tank and saw that it was half full. I decided I would drive out five miles and burn the bodies out in a building, that way no wildfire would start.

"Alexander!" I turned to my left and saw Xavier making his way out of my house. I rolled down the window and spoke.

"What is man?"

"Do you want me to drive them out?" Xavier asked.

"I'm good man, but thanks anyway." I answered.

"Ar- Are you sure?" He stuttered, then I started to think he just didn't want to be in the house.

"Are you afraid of the girl?" I gave a little smirk at Xavier.

"No! Dude are you kidding me? I've stared Death in the face! I'm not afraid of no girl..." Xavier said.

"You'll be alright man." I patted him on the shoulder. "You've been around girls before."

"Yeah but..." Xavier once more trailed off.

"You like her don't you?" I chuckled to myself, while Xavier nodded. "Just act like yourself, and be friendly. Don't point a gun in her face like you did with me."

Xavier laughed to himself. "Alright, be back before noon or I'll have to come find you." I nodded my head and started to back out into the main road.

The sun was shining in my face, making it hard to see. As I drove by I spotted a few Walkers here and there. They would look over at me and swing their arms, but none following. I eventually reached my five mile mark and started to look for a nearby town.

I knew the area pretty well so I knew I was close to Danon township. Just then a semi tall building popped into view and that's where I would burn the bodies.

I pulled into the alleyway and stopped the car. I placed the keys in my pocket and went to back with a box of matches in my hand. As I pulled open the back hatch of the trunk I started to hear a moaning sound nearby. I unholstered my Osprey and crouched by the side of the truck, and waited for it to pop into view.

After about thirty seconds of waiting a Walker peered around the corner. Torn skin off of its face and missing its left forearm. The Walker was a middle aged man who seemed to be attacked in the stomach due to the large opening in its belly.

Since it was only one Walker I placed my gun back and slipped out my Bowie knife that Xavier have to me. He said we needed to conserve our ammo and if there are three of less, take them with a knife.

I made my way over to the edge of the alleyway when all of a sudden at least ten more appeared into view.

"Shit!" I whispered to myself. I took out my pistol once more and started to fire rounds into the crowd, but more and more Walkers started to come into view. I didn't have enough ammunition to take them all on, even with my MK18.

I decided to run to the end of the alleyway and I started to notice it was a dead end. "Dammit!" I ran back to the truck and hopped on top of the truck. I looked around and all the Walkers had surrounded me, their rotten and mangled arms trying to claw at me.

I kept looking around and saw around thirty Walkers. Their growls becoming so loud I felt like I was right next to a speaker at a concert.

I noticed I was standing on top of the sun roof and spotted my carbine on the seat. I reached in and slung it over my shoulder. Then a plan started to form in my head.

I grabbed the body of the boy I had shot and took one look at him. I tossed his body into the crowd just in front of the truck. They swarmed his body like a bug to a light, except they tore at his body.

When I turned around four or five Walker had managed their way to grab some of the remaining bodies. I fired two rounds into the closest Walkers and jumped off the truck, landing in a rough crouch.

I ran out of the alleyway and started to look for a car, but a group of ten Walkers was heading down the main road, forcing me further into the town. I kept on running until I reached an intersection, more Walkers to my right and left but only a few. No matter what though, I would get trapped by the group behind me and there could be more Walkers hiding. Then something caught my attention.

Just in front of me, was a little general store, the windows were barricaded but the door only had a wooden board across it. I ran over as fast as I could and slipped out my knife and started prying the door open.

The wood came off with a splitting sound, attracting more Walkers toward me. I quickly entered and placed the wooden ply in between the door handles.

I dropped myself up against a shelf and started to take deep breaths, the adrenaline that was pumping through my body started to calm down. But was then quickly replaced with fear.

The sound of Walkers banging against the windows and growling was extremely loud, and then I realized something. The growling, was behind me.
