I finally pulled into the city and saw dead bodies and burned out cars strewn out across the streets. I stopped the car and grabbed my gun and bag, but before I left the car I scanned my surroundings.

Once I was satisfied that no Walkers were in the general area I tucked the stock of my gun into my shoulder and slowly left the car. I went into a crouched position and started to make my way towards the pharmacy that, hopefully, my sister would be at.

I went over to a cop car that mounted the curb and stayed behind it. I kept my head on a swivel but then noticed a repulsive stench. I peeked over the trunk of the car and noticed someone in the backseat, torn to shreds. What used to be a he, was now starting to wake due to my presence. I ducked underneath the car and crawled to the door on the side of the Walker.

Praying that the car alarm would not go off, I slowly opened the door and heard the growling of the dead man. It's arm was stretched out and it had a film over its eyes. The stench from it was now ever so present and I had to hold my breath from throwing up. I slipped out my knife and shoved it through the Walker's skull.

I stayed crouched behind the car and scanned the area one more time. Clear. Being in a big city I was expecting a large amount of Walkers, but it was oddly... lonely. I kept low and ghosted between cars, not drawing any attention to myself as I went my way.

I looked up to the street signs as I reached the intersection. I was only three blocks away from the pharmacy. I started to make my way across the street when I heard growls, a lot of growls. I turned to my left and saw hundreds upon hundreds of Walkers filling the street, now turning their hungry gazes upon me.

I eyed them as their mouths opened, their decayed teeth a nasty yellow while their torn skin was a sickly grayish-white. They extended their arms toward me and started to stumble after me.

"Ah fu..." I bolted down the street away from the pharmacy, hopefully I would be able to double back somehow without leading all these lifeless beasts towards my only safe haven. I pushed my body as hard as I could down the street, but I was still in eye sight of the Walkers, and I don't think they were going to give up easily.

When I came to the end of the intersection two blocks down, I rounded the corner to my right and watched as the hungry horde of Walkers were clumsily following. I faced the street I came down and it was clear Lady Luck was not on my side today.

"You gotta be shitting me..."

Another horde of Walkers was blocking the street. I doubled back and went down the street that continued to the left and noticed a blockade of police cars and a tank sitting behind them. Soon those two hordes would come together, stacking the odds up against me even more.

I slid over the hood of the police car and hopped on top of the tank. Once more, I was greeted by a hundred hungry corpses on the other side. I turned around and now the two Walker hordes combined and filled the street.

Sticky situation.

The Walkers started to climb over the police cars and were closing in on both sides. There was no way I would be able to get past them, but then I realized something. Walkers can't jump. I looked just in front of me and kept my eyes moving up. A fairly large building with multiple broken walls stood before me.

I popped a few rounds into the crowds of both sides of me and backed up a bit on the tank. I started sprinting and jumped into the hole in the wall.

I landed with a thud on the floor and scrambled to pull myself into the building. I began to run and was immediately greeted by a Walker; which I smacked across the face with the butt of my gun. I kicked the door open and looked both ways before exiting the room.

Once I made sure no Walkers were in the hallway I started to make my way towards the stairs. With my MK18 tucked against my shoulder I progressed with caution, keeping my eyes and ears open. With each floor I climbed I only came in contact with a few of the Undead, dealing with them very quickly.

I reached the roof and scanned the area, only a few dead bodies were scattered around. Their flesh torn and their heads hung low. I went to the edge of the building that looked down onto the street and now I could see how many Walkers were surrounding me. I would have to say almost one thousand of those things tried to eat my flesh, they must be running out of food already.

I looked around and saw a few buildings I could jump on to without really hurting myself. I would stay parallel with the street as long as I can until I reach the intersection, hopefully the horde wouldn't extend for that long.

I took a long look down at the building below me and exhaled. I made sure all my gear was secured and then looked at the space between both of the buildings. It wasn't very large at all. I stood on the edge and put one foot out, and then dropped.

I landed in a perfect crouch and took running down the block; using the rooftops. With every step I took, with every leap I leapt, I felt free. Running along those rooftops was something different, something good.

I came to a halting stop as I reached the last building on the block. I now saw that the Walkers had not extended this far, but came danger close. I made my way to the right side of the building looking for a ladder, when my search was fruitless for all sides I decided I would have to control my descent. I went to the ledge facing the alley parallel with the street.

I turned so I was now actually facing the street and dropped, grabbing a hold of the first ledge I saw and planting my feet against the brick wall. Once more I dropped until I reached the ground where a few Walkers were waiting, but hadn't noticed me.

I minded my own business and made my way to the end of the alley. I looked at the street crossing in front of me and looked left and right to see if there was another horde of Walkers.

To my right was pretty clear besides some burnt out vehicles strewn on the road. However, to my left I could see a few Walkers stumbling around a barricade of sandbags and waist high concrete blocks.

Keeping low and moving fast, I made my way across the street and took cover behind a jutting out wall of the building. Right now there was no way I would be able to make it to the pharmacy with that many Walkers roaming the streets, so I decided to hole up in a store or something along those lines.

I stayed crouched and entered what seemed to be a small grocery store, which was actually kind of lucky, this way I could scavenge up a few supplies.

I made my way down the aisles a bit before I was satisfied that no Walker would spot me. Most of the canned goods were already taken; people panicking, not knowing when this was going to end probably had a field day at these grocery stores.

As I was grabbing a few cans of Spaghetti-O's, I felt cold hard steel pressed up against my head.

"Drop your weapons and put you hands I can see them. Slowly." He was obviously a man based off of his tone of voice. But damn I made a rookie mistake, I should've cleared the store first.

"Alright. Just, just watch my hands." I responded. I couldn't see my captor since he was standing behind me, but something told me he wasn't alone. I went down to the ground and dropped my rifle, then I made a very slow and obvious gesture towards my Osprey. I took it out of the holster and laid the gun down next to me. It was then promptly kicked away from me.

They stripped me from my knife and my MK18, along with my bag full of my supplies.

"Alright turn around. Slowly." One of the guys said. I did as they said, not really wanting to get shot. I eyed both of them. They looked like they were about a year older than me, both white, somewhat muscular, and a few blood stains on their shirt. One had blonde hair just reaching in the middle of his forehead, while the other had short brown hair.

"Who are you?" The blonde asked, his gun still in between my eyes.

"Alexander?" I heard someone call out my name, someone I didn't think was alive... Until now.
