IX- Rose

"This is good," I said with a full mouth. A delicious pastry called, fairy jelly enveloped me with its sweet jelly center surrounded by it's light, fluffy dough.

Will stood next to me, licking his fingers clean while leaning against a glass countertop with other treats on display below it.

"I prefer the dark chocolate frog muffins myself," he replied while licking the last finger.

A women, large built, dark brown skin with dazzling honey eyes smiled at us behind the counter.

Her name is Mrs. Canterbury, and she owns the bakery just across the square where Wills uncle shop sits.

Will was introducing me to all the neighboring shops. We had gone to a little book shop just next to The Black Rabbit Magic Shoppe earlier. There I met Mr. Adelaide, an aging man with a smile brighter than any summers day and his nephew, Vincent, a quiet boy who hid behind the books of the shop.

"Well thank you for the goodies, Mrs. C," Will smiled while pushing his body away from the counter top. "They were delicious as always."

The women smiled. Her cheeks were a plum color which only made her seem more jolly.

"Anytime, sugar! You've got a cutie there if I do say so myself," she chuckled.

My face reddened as I giggled nervously. "Thanks."

She winked as Will lead me out of the shop. We stood on the sidewalk that connected the shops in this little square Will called home. I could see across the cobblestone square, The Black Rabbit Shoppe next to Wills front door to his flat.

People entered in and out of the store constantly. Just behind all the buildings you could see the tall tips of pine trees. So many pine trees. The forest back there must be enormous. I had never seen so many trees in one place. You could smell the pine needles and wet wood from all they way down here.
"So what else would you like me to show you?" Will said while slipping his hands into is jean pockets. "I mean, there's a store for anything in the Magic Realm."

I was still caught in the beauty of the scenery. Giving off a slight shrug I heard Will laugh. Not a mocking sort of laugh, but an amused one.

"Your something," he laughed while throwing his head back. Wills black hair was tossed in the mild breeze as his wide smile made my heart flutter.

"What's so funny?" I asked him. "Do I have food on my face?"

"No, no," he sighed while opening his calm wine colored eyes. "It's just you've been so mesmerized by everything in the Magic Realm, it's kinda funny."

"Well sorry for enjoying a freaking new world I didn't even knew existed!" I sighed while rolling my eyes.

He kept laughing as we walked towards his uncles shop.

"It's just," he started.

"It's just what?" I growled.

He stopped in the middle of the square just as a flock of birds passed over head.

"It's just you look so cute when your in your little trance," he giggled. "Like a lost puppy."

"So you think I look like a lost puppy?" I stated. I wasn't sure to take his comment on my reaction to this new world as an insult or a complement a boyfriend gives to his girlfriend.

"No, I'm saying your cute," he grinned while bopping the tip of my nose. He walk ahead as I stood there for a moment.

"Hey!" I yelled as him while catching up with him. That only made his laugh and run ahead with me chasing him like a "lost puppy".
