XVIII- Will

I laid my head down on the surface of the shops counter top, exhausted.

The sound of Rose stalking up the shops candy echoed in the back of my mind as I felt myself drifting off-.

"WILL! BUDDY!"

I jumped out of my seat as the shops bell dinged letting in two familiar faces.

My shaggy hair friend waltzed in with his arm around another warm hearted face.

"Sweet Merlins beard, Cole. You about gave me a heart attack," I cried while regaining my seat.

Cole, with his dark brown hair covering his shades, and his pale, lifeless skin, mocked me while his girlfriend nudge him.

"Hey Will," she then smiled.

I nodded back and turned to Rose saying, "Rose meet Cole and Lily. Some friends of mine."

Lily shook Roses hand with Coles arm still around her shoulder.

"Nice to meet you," Rose greeted.

I gazed at Rose then said, "yup. Coles a vampire and Lily's a witch."

"Not a very good one," Cole coughed.

I nodded as Lily gave a dangerous glance.

"Wait," Rose said leaning on the counter. "If your a vampire how come you aren't dead? The sun is out-."

"Thanks to these bad boys I can go out in the daylight," he said tapping his sunglasses. "They have a spell on it that shields me from the sunlight."

"Neat," Rose gawked.

Cole, still holding onto Lily saying, "so how's it going, man. Haven't seen you in ages."

I nodded recalling past memories of Cole and Lily. Both were just friends you would see around town once in a while. Lately, we have busy, if you know what I mean.

"I'm just here to pick up some fairie shells," Lily said approaching the counter.

I rummaged through bottles and boxes below the counter till I found the right jar.

Setting it on the counter Lily said, "have you seen The Shadow Master lately? He almost crashed into Cole and me last week. It was terrifying."

I heard Rose make a choking noise as she continue to fill candy jars up.

"Uh, yeah," I said gazing at her suspiciously. "I don't really keep up with that stuff."

Lily shook her head, her auburn hair swinging back and forth.

"It's madness, Will. Now they think the demons are going to start a riot. It's terrible-."

"The demons are not going to start a riot!" Rose snapped.

We were all silent as she gulped and said calmly, "I mean, they have no real reason to start a riot. Nobody has angered them enough to have them do that."

"Hm," Lily frowned suspiciously while paying.

I bagged her item and said goodbye. As they left the shop I turned to Rose and snapped.

"Rose! What are you doing! You can't go around defending demons willy nilly!"

Rose sighed and dropped her shoulders saying, "Will. Look, I have seen things about demon, okay? They are not that bad."

"Rose," I gasped while leaning forward on the counter. "Are doing something I should know about?"

Rose froze, her expression worried. It quickly returned to serious as she said, "no. It's just we shouldn't act to rude to demons. I mean, I haven't seen them do anything horrible."
