XV- Orion
"Now, we'll start you at a fifth rank training level-."
"No, start him on forth rank."
"But sir-."
"No buts! He can handle it."
I gave an exhausted moan as my uncle hovered around me like ghost nagging commands at Dax, the lieutenant of The Regiment Of Merlin and my trainer.
It was my first day of this training gig and I personally was excited, but also worried my uncle would be following me around demanding things.
Dax folded his arms and said, "sir, with all do respect, are you sure he isn't too young for forth rank?"
My uncle smiled and said, "if I were in charge he would be in second rank."
Dax went pale and stuttered, "yes, sir. Anyways, let's move into the training room."
My uncle stopped us saying, "I'll be right back, I have to go speak to Donovan about something."
I nodded and proceeded to follow Dax down the polished floor hallway. He pushed open a pair of silver doors which brought the aroma of workout equipment and sweat.
The training room was a huge circular room carved from fine embellished stone. Above was a balcony that circled above like a halo, and the floors were made of a durable foam and rubber.
Targets were pasted on the walls with sets of weapons organized neatly below them. Benches also were backed against the wall with soldiers sitting amongst them chatting.
"Now this is where we will train. We'll start small and work our way up-." Dax stopped as he saw me scurry across the room towards the weapon shelf with a gleam in my eye.
"Hey, kid," Dax frowned as I pulled a bow and arrow of the shelf. "Be careful. Geez, your going to hurt yourself-."
I released an arrow as watch it slice through the air leaving a sound that I assume would be the sound of air ripping.
The arrow stabbed the target in the heart as I pinned the other targets seconds after.
Dax was at a loss of words. He just stood their with a gap as I smiled. The feeling of being the superior one felt nice.
"Nice shot!" A thick Russian voice said behind me.
I spun around to see a tall, well built teenager march up to me with his uniform coat flapping behind him. He had a large, white grin and a mess of auburn hair that stood out along with his rich golden brown eyes.
He patted me on the shoulder while saying to Dax, "who's the lad you've got here?"
Dax gave a tiresome sigh at the sight of him and said dully, "Boris, this is Orion."
Boris shook my hand with a tight grip smiling.
"Also," Dax added. "He's Ex Captain Rogburts nephew."
Boris froze in mid shake with a awe and horror struck face.
"C-captain R-Rogburt?" He stuttered. "You mean he's back?"
Dax slowly nodded. "He's with Donovan right now."
Boris gulped and said, "oh sweet Merlin do you think he remembers!"
"Remembers what?" I asked.
Dax chucked saying, "probably."
"Aye!" Boris said rubbing his head. "It's was a while ago. My father was a soldier and he screwed up some missions. That's that, but I'm afraid he left a nasty scar for the rest of us in the family."
