Fruits Basket Tohru X Kyo

Look at me Tohru.

Kyo's POV

Geez the birds are chirping louder than usual. I go to stretch, but- HUH?!

T-Tohru?!

W-We fell asleep together in the s-same bed?!

Anytime I try to move, she just gets closer, it's no use, I'm going to transform either way if she's still asleep.

She wraps her arms around my neck and cuddles up to me, and she's so warm, but of course this couldn't last.

"Oh my gosh! Kyo, are you okay? Wait-"

She froze and her face flushed bright red. I guess she just realized that she's in my bed, and I'm a cat.

"Yeah, if you wouldn't have gotten so damn clingy," I feel my face getting warm too, "you got so c-close. Too close."

Dammit. I can't make my mind up about this girl. The more I push it away, the more it attacks me. It's like I can't escape it. This girl. She doesn't know how much she screws with my head.

"I'm so sorry, I had no idea, I can leave!" She says starting to stand up.

"No, wait!"

"What is it?" She looks me in my eyes.

"AGH I'M SO SORRY!" she yells covering her eyes.

Do I have to come back like this? That's got to have been the worst timing ever.

"Alright kids, out the door, school is starting!" Shigure blabs.

Tohru can't even look at me, she's been red all morning. I'm sure i'm no better. I can't stop thinking about... well, all of it. Her fingers in my hair, her delicate touch, it's all just too good to be true. I have to savor it while I can. It's almost the end.

I have to take every chance that I get. Tomorrow is the culture festival, and the day after that is my date with her. I'll do everything I can to make it the best date I possibly can. She's worth it. All of it.

Yuki split off from us to go pick up Machi, so it's just Tohru and I. No one else is around for about another mile or so usually. It's quiet.

"Are you excited for the festival tomorrow? The rat said it'll be better than last years."

"Oh yes, I'm very excited! It'll be a night to remember!" She beams.

I blush knowing that the next night will be far more memorable.

"A-And the day after that?" I stuttered.

She looked at me and smiled big, with her cheeks tinted pink.

"I'll remember it forever!" She said, smiling even bigger.

When I looked over at her, she was playing with her fingers and looking at her feet.

"You feeling okay Tohru?"

"Oh I'm fine, just thinking about all the fun things coming up!" She said, still looking down.

"Then why do you look so bummed out?"

She looked up at me with her face flushed.

"I'm not, just a little embarrassed!" She said, a little higher pitched than normal.

"Embarrassed? What's up with that?"

She looked back down at her hands.

"Are you not nervous about our date?" She hesitated.
