I Know Love When I See it

Tohru's POV

I was being an idiot as usual, and now I have splinters all over my hand. I guess Kyo has had a few before, because here he is with a pair of tweezers pulling them all out.

"Ow, ow, ow..."

"Maybe think next time. You're always getting hurt. No one wants to see you like this."

He looked like he caught himself saying something he didn't mean, and started blushing uncontrollably.

"I didn't mean it like that! I don't mind helping you or whatever, I just, I don't want you to get hurt. Okay?"

"Right!" I said with a big smile. He smiled back. I'm so happy he smiled back.

Kyo's POV

I can't help but smile when she does. It's contagious. I think she fell asleep, because she hasn't been downstairs and it's almost time for dinner. Before that dog goes and wakes her up, I should make something for everyone.

"Kyo! What are you doing? Where's our sweet Tohru?"

"She's upstairs taking a nap. Don't wake her up, I'm making dinner tonight."

"Oh?"

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT?"

"Oh calm down Kyo, you don't need to hide your feelings anymore do you?"

I felt my face getting warm, what the hell is he talking about? How would he know how I feel about anything?

"Unless... Don't tell me you haven't told our Tohru how you feel about her!"

"Shut the hell up, I don't know what you're talking about Shigure."

Just then I heard tiny footsteps going down the stairs.

"I know love when I see-"

I covered Shigure's mouth and pushed him to the floor.

"Oh no! Shigure are you alright?!"

"I'm fine, just pushing Kyo's buttons again!" He said with fake tears going down his face.

Tohru set the table and poured the soup I made into bowls. Yuki came downstairs in his regular clothes, and I realized Tohru and I never changed.

"Miss Honda, what did you do to your hand?"

"Oh! It's nothing really. I got some slivers. Oh but Kyo helped me get them out and bandaged up my hand!"

Shigure looked over with his puppy dog eyes, and he was definitely going to say something.

"Can we eat the damn food already? I'm gonna starve!"

Yuki's POV

The sink water is getting cold again. I'm not really in the mood for a cold bath. I'll just wash my face.

"Kyo are you ready for school tomorrow? I'm so excited to start martial arts with you!"

"It's whatever. I don't really know why senior year matters as much as they're saying it does. There's nothing new."

But there is Kyo. New opportunities, or old ones that you missed last year. Another year with her. If he could get his head out of the clouds he'd see that he could have a future with her. He should just leave while he still can.

Tohru's POV

Another morning, another opportunity to have a great day! Today they'll announce when we're taking our school trip, and they said that there's another special surprise for the seniors this year! I'm so excited!
I went to go make breakfast, and Kyo was already sitting in the living room watching TV with a towel on his head.
