Tohru's POV
It's Friday after school, so that should mean Ayame will be at the house when I get home. I'm excited to walk home with Kyo today. I want to talk to him about our date. It's strange to me that after all of this time, it's our first date. It's even more strange to me that this will be Kyo's first date ever!
There he is! Down by the tree at the bottom of the stairs. There's a light breeze tugging on his hair, and he has that grumpy look on his face that always melts into a smile when he sees me. Kyo acts so strangely around me, definitely different than others. I get an impression that it would be awkward to ask about. I know I act a little differently with him than I do to others, but I'm not sure what it really is. I care about him in a different way than the others. He's wearing a black sweater over his uniform today, and I don't blame him. It's freezing! We really need to find a place to meet inside so he doesn't freeze to death.
Uo-Chan? What's she doing with Kyo? Don't they hate each other?
"Don't worry Tohru, she's simply telling him that we're kidnapping you to Ayame's shop." Hana-Chan said from behind me.
I turned around to see Hana-Chan and Machi walking up to me. What an odd, but fitting pairing.
"I wasn't worried! Just curious."
"Maybe I read your facial expressions wrong, but you seemed worried. No, maybe not that."
Hana-Chan knows most of my emotions better than I do myself. She understands people better than anyone else I've ever met. Yuki is a close second.
I looked back over to see that Kyo and Uo-Chan weren't where they were before.
"Jealousy maybe?" Hana-Chan thought out loud.
"What?"
"Oh never mind. It doesn't matter. We should be getting on our way, Tohru, Machi."
Machi nodded, and I heard Uo-Chan running down the hall to catch up.
"My dad let me borrow the car, so we'll be driving today!" Uo-Chan said with a thumbs up.
When we pulled up to Ayame's shop, the girls were confused. It looked nothing like a fancy dress shop.
"What is this place? It just looks like a worn out brick outlet." Uo-Chan stated, blank faced.
"Momiji always describes it as 'A shop for men's fantasies'!"
Everyone looked at me, shocked. So I looked back, confused. Machi giggled at my confusion, but Uo-Chan couldn't hold back her laughter.
"Oh sweet innocent Tohru." Hana-Chan said, patting my head.
"I don't understand, am I missing something?"
"It doesn't matter really, we should get inside." Machi said, getting ahold of herself.
She's very mature and quiet. Sometimes I wonder how things happened between her and Yuki.
"Ah! Girls, welcome in to my beautiful shop!" Ayame beamed with his charming smile.
"Momiji wasn't lying. Bunny girls, nurses, maids, school girls, we're not wearing anything like this, are we?" Hana-Chan joked.
Machi, Uo-Chan and I sat down on the couches while Hana-Chan was getting measured in the other room.
"So Machi, you and the prince. How did that happen?" Uo-Chan poked at her barrier.
Machi blushed.
"He liked how I didn't see him as perfect, and he accepted my flaws and insecurities like it was no big deal. It's been 3 months now, and we've only come to understand each other's perspectives on life even more."
I think that's the most I've heard Machi say in one reply before. You can tell she really loves Yuki, and judging by Yuki's actions, it's safe to assume he loves her just as much, if not more.
"I remember he used to get all worked up whenever Kyo would mention you! Now he just blushes and ignores the comment. They've both gotten so much more mature!" I told Machi.
"Tohru, how did it happen with you and Kyo?" Machi asked.
"Me, and Kyo?"
"The "it" you're referring to hasn't happened yet. Not even a few steps in the right direction." Uo-Chan added.
Hana-Chan came out wearing a black ball gown with a sweetheart neckline and black lace sleeves.
"Unfortunately, Kyo is too dense to say, do, or probably even realize his feelings for Tohru."
Hana-Chan always sounds so sure of herself. When I put a hand on my face, it felt so warm. I guess they kind of put me on the spot about Kyo. Hana-Chan thinks he likes me? By the sound of it,
all of them think he likes me.My face keeps heating up. Thinking about everything, I guess some of it makes sense. We do a lot together, and he does a lot for me.
Ahhhh I feel like I'm melting!
"Oh Tohru! It's your turn for fitting!" Ayame beamed. He practically glitters when he speaks.
"Oh, right!"
I walked in, and a beautiful baby pink dress stood in front of me. It had embroidered white flowers on the waist, thinning out the further away it gets from the center. There were off the shoulder, see through long sleeves.
"Ayame! This is so beautiful! You can't possibly give this to me without any payment!"
"Oh but sweet Tohru, you've already paid for beyond what I could ever give you in clothing! Mine will be in in a moment to fit the dress to you!" Ayame said.
He smirked, "Plus, anything to make Kyo's first date happen. I just know he's been waiting for this," He pointed at me,
"with no one else but you of course!"I pointed at myself too.
"Ahh, me? Why me?"
He just smiled, let out an exaggerated breath, and walked out of the room. I pressed my ear to the door.
"Oh lovely girls, when will our Tohru realize-"
But Mine interrupted.
"Are you ready to start getting fitted?""Oh yeah of course! Let's get started!"
Kyo, likes me?
There are a lot of girls after him and Yuki, but neither of them seem to care.
Yuki doesn't care because he's so in love with Machi, but I've never really thought about why Kyo doesn't care at all.Is it really because...
of me?
