Here I am,
I aim to please
But what's that?
You need to leave?
That's alright, stranger.
That's okay.
What could I ask of you,
That I couldn't ask another day?
You see,
These days looking into
The moonlight all I see
Are giant shadows looming over me,
And even if the rest of the world is the same,
I've a harder time braving it now that I can't remember my own name.
Let me wait it out until we dry up all the rain.
And when I say 'maybe it wasn't meant to be'
I know it hurts, yeah, honey that's on me.
But I don't know what else I could have said,
Would you have preferred a pretty lie instead?
Maybe I take 'whatcha thinking about?' too literally
And it might be because I no longer see
The light in your eyes you used to hold
Just for me.
These days looking into
The moonlight all I see
Are all the things that I cannot be,
And even if the rest of the world is the same
I've a harder time braving them now that I don't feel sane.
Let me wait it out until we dry up all the rain
And see the sun again.
