And there it sat
Simmering behind your teeth.
Quiet and striking and all hidden beneath.There it reached
The back of your mind,
All slimy and aching and cut off from timeBut it's there,
That thing neither of us noticed
No, neither of us wanted to see.
There used to be so many wonderful things I thought we could be.Now, I could wish it away,
But even that thought
Painful as it was,
It's not the vileness I fought.The thing you think,
That's a part of you too.
I'm happy it came out,
What you think is so true.No matter how wrong it may be.
