So, maybe we've got a little less time to breathe than what we thought we had
I promise I can shake it off at the drop of a hat
If I've got you
By my side
So, scurry off on your way to close up all the creaking doors
Careful not to make any new scars, aches, or sores
As we fall into
Another time
It's just a one step move right in front of the other
There's a timeless tune singing while you run for cover
Back into a corner where there's room to rediscover
A different
Sort of climb
As the sky lifts away the smoking blues
And darkens way past paying off our dues
Listen to the scraping, scraping, scraping of their old shoes
As they rub off on your mind
I took a stroll into the ocean city
Hand in hand in hand it's still all the more pretty
With you, with you
Tell me if you're feeling under the weather pity
I'll stand outside in the perfect storm giddy
With you, with you
We've not a single drop of time
But my heart doesn't slow as the years go by
And I've got all these dandelion seeds to fill up inside
Life doesn't stop just because you've broken down
So take a second for yourself before you get up off the ground
Because there won't be another moment to waste until you've fallen again
Frozen again
Tell me what we're all doing here and when it will end
Be it the sun, moon, or all the brilliant stars in between
You hold the world in the palm of your hands it seems
You can let it go long enough to hold my teenage dreams
We watched the night fall into the lake with wed willows
To be brushed away as your soul billows
Onto the newly-made dew
Oh, I'm finding my beautiful blue
