My lover's not human.
She's the warmth inside a cold brew.
Duality in everything she could ever do.
Comforting smiles behind a mask she feigns.
Can't you see the children skipping in the pouring rain?
My lover's not human.
She's the broken chord under the melody.
So brash and sharp, she could kill a tree.
No room for compromise.
She likes to fight the sunrise
But I see
She shows up everywhere
And never forgets her promises to me.
It's how she shows me she cares.
After a long day riding the gusts in the wind,
Hiding from whispers,
And undoing her sins,
My lover's as human as can be.
