Walls speak when the rest of us are quiet.
They call and weep when the bravest fall silent,
And they sing me tall tales about all the things they see,
All the things the world gets up to when it's away from me.When I can't see past the chains around my feet,
Will it be kind, the way you think of me?
Or will I have to scream my aching heart
All out until it splits down the middle, dribbling with redWaiting for the world to fall down
When they come to drag me away
I'll fall numb for the rest of my days.
If I feel so much grief that it aches,
I'll have proof that all we had was worth the pain,
And if my mind starts to slowly break
We'll only have the world to blame.
