What Are We Going To Do?

We just arrived at the Salvatore's house, and to be honest, I'm a little bit nervous. I know that Brandon doesn't have his powers, but the mere thought of him alone makes me go crazy. He's weak without his powers, though, so I shouldn't be worried.

Me and Kai got out of the car, linking our hands together as we walked towards the front door. I didn't bother knocking the door- I pushed it open instead.

"It's okay, baby. He can't do anything to us." Kai reassures me. I nod and take a deep breathe as I walk inside, pulling Kai in behind me.

We immediately head towards the living room because we can both hear talking coming from the room. As soon as we enter, we see everyone huddled in a circle. And right in the middle is Brandon. I let go of Kai's hand as I walk closer to everyone.

I see Bonnie give me a sympathetic look, and in this moment, I can't tell whether it's a good or bad thing.

As soon as I get close enough, I feel Bonnie place her hand on the small of my back. It's as if she's trying to protect me.

I push past a few people so that I can get to Brandon as soon as possible and end this. He looks like he's in a deep conversation when I go to stand in front of him. His face nearly lights up when he sees me. My face stays set in stone as I glare back at him. He takes a step closer towards me.

"It's wonderful to see you, Elle," He states with a smile. "I was worried you had killed me at first, but then I was alive all of a sudden. It's a miracle, really." I go to open my mouth, but Kai pushing past everyone to stand next to me distracts me.

"Back off, Brandon." He growls. Brandon puts his hands up like he's surrendering.

"Woah, calm down, brother. I was merely trying to thank Elle for not killing me." Brandon remarks with a smile. Kai steps right in front of him and grabs him by his collar.

"If you don't tell us what you're doing here, then I will send you straight to hell." Kai threatens. Everyone stay right where they're standing, not wanting to disturb the brotherly bond.

Brandon doesn't say anything which makes Kai grasp his throat and lift him off the floor in return. Brandon lets out a few stutters.

"Spit it out, Brandon. I could easily kill you right here right now if I just tighten my grip." Kai whispers.

I'm not going to lie, that was hot.

Brandon taps Kai's hand, and Kai loosens his grip, letting Brandon fall on his feet back to the ground.

"I came here to apologize," Brandon finally says, his voice raspy after Kai almost strangled him to death. "And to say that I won't be in your way or in your life ever again."

Kai looks at him with a confused look on his face.

"Cut the shit, Brandon." Kai states. Brandon just shakes his head.

"I'm not giving you any shit. I just thought you guys should know that I won't be of any threat to you." He calmly states.

"And you expect us to believe that?" Kai asks.

"I don't. And you don't have to believe me. But you guys need to keep your enemies in mind, and you need to know that I'm not one anymore." Brandon replies.

It seems so genuine and heartfelt.

Yeah, I don't believe him.

"Give me one reason on why you're not continuing this whole killing-us charade and maybe I'll think about letting you go." Kai offers. Brandon nods.
