4 years later

I turn around in bed, trying to get comfortable, when I feel something on me. I open my eyes, sitting up to see a tray of food on my lap.

Being woken up with breakfast?

Kai only does that when I'm not feeling good- mentally or physically- or when he wants something.

I'm guessing it's the latter.

He's not in the bedroom, though.

"Kai?" I call out.

As soon as I do, I see that adorable and all too familiar grin as he walks into the room carrying what looks to be a glass of orange juice. He sits down on the edge of the bed right next to me, placing the drink on the tray.

"I still think that chocolate milk is better." Kai states before reaching his hand up to my face to tuck a piece of my hair behind my ear.

"You really must be a sociopath then." I reply. He pretends to look offended before he leans closer to me, cupping my cheek.

"Happy five years, Mrs. Parker." He whispers before pressing his lips to mine. He pushes his body into mine, continuing to kiss me as if he can't get enough. He eventually pulls away, smirking at me while catching his breath.

"I have a lot of things planned for us today, angel," Kai states. "You better eat quickly."

He stands up off the bed, moving the tray closer to me as he does. He goes to the door, stopping to look back at me.

"I'll be in the kitchen, cleaning up. Come find me there when you're done," He states. "We're going to have a lot of fun today, princess."

I push the tray over onto the other side of the bed, getting off of the bed. I quite literally inhaled the food- I was starving.

I know Kai said to meet him out there, but I'd rather get dressed first. I'd rather not look like a gremlin today. I go to our closet, taking a random dress off of its hanger and then placing it on our bed. I change into the dress, going back to the bathroom to get ready.

Kai is probably asleep by now.

I brush my teeth, brush my hair, and do my makeup. And I'm pretty sure we're not even doing anything that requires us to leave the house.

He better appreciate my effort.

I finally leave the bathroom to make my way to the kitchen. And there he is, leaning against the counter. He stands up straight when he sees me. I walk up to him, wrapping my arms around his neck to pull him down to me.

"You look amazing," He whispers. "But you didn't have to get all dressed up. You look beautiful either way."

I pull back from him to look him up and down.

"You also look beautiful today, Malachai." I whisper back. His hands fall down to my ass, pulling me against him.

"You know what you're doing." He says quietly.

"And what would that be?" I ask innocently.

"I know you know what calling me by my full name does to me." He explains.
