It's Not a Dream

When I opened my eyes this morning, for about two seconds, I was sure this was a dream. A mix of a dream and a nightmare I should say. For some reason, I had no idea where I was this morning. I think it was just all the thoughts that were racing through my head.

I've been laying in bed, awake, for about an hour. I've just been thinking about everything. Kai, Klaus, this place, everything. There's no Bonnie, no Damon, no Stefan, no Caroline, none of my family is here. They're all my family. I miss them so much, but I know that the safest thing is for me and Kai to stay here. For how long? We don't know.

I shift around and pull the covers closer to my chest. I hear Kai snoring, so he's obviously not awake. I turn towards him. He looks so angelic. I know that's not the usual word you would see someone describe a person's face, but it's true. Kai is the most beautiful person I've seen. Or handsome. Who cares? He's both. And he's all mine.

I lift my hand out from underneath the covers and put it on his cheeks. He stops snoring, and I'm certain I've woken him, but he stays perfectly still. I move the stray pieces of hair away from his face. I tuck the longer pieces behind his ears. His hair is getting longer. I love it.

I move my body closer to his and try to move my hand, but I realize I can't. I look at it and see Kai's hand wrapped around my wrist. He pulls me on top of him. I wrap my legs around his waist and I place my hands on his head to play with his hair. He grabs my chin, so he can look at my face, I'm assuming. He looks deep in thought as he stares into my eyes. He tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear and places his hand on my cheek.

"You're so beautiful." He whispers as he continues to stare at me. I can already tell I'm blushing.

"You're beautiful, too." I whisper back as I lay my head on his chest. Kai lets out a small chuckle.

"Let's just lay here." Kai softly says. I nod my head against his chest. I can feel my eyes close, and I already know I'm drifting off to sleep.

I hear humming. Kai is humming. His voice is so angelic. And it's making me fall asleep.

This time when I woke up I knew I wasn't dreaming. Actually, maybe I am. I opened my eyes, and I was no longer on Kai's chest. I'm laying on my back while Kai is between my legs; his head on my stomach and my legs wrapped around him. I try to move out from under him so that I can get food, but he doesn't budge.

"Kai." I whisper as I nudge his head.

"Mmm..." He groans. He moves a little bit, though. I hop off the bed and walk towards our bedroom door to head to the kitchen.

Before I can reach the door knob, I'm being pinned against the door. Kai no longer looks sleepy as his eyes pierce mine. He grabs my chin so that I can look at him.

"Who said you could leave?" He asks, staring at my lips.

"I didn't think I needed permission." I whisper. Kai lets out a chuckle and shakes his head.

"It's only morning, Elle, don't get started with me." He warns. I look at the clock on the nightstand.

"It's 1:32 p.m." I respond. Kai gives me a glare.

"Elle." He warns again. I roll my eyes. His hand around my throat honestly doesn't surprise me. His grip tightens.

"What did I just say?" He asks firmly.

Fuck this.

I flick my fingers, making him fly across the room. As I open the door, I look at him slumped against the other wall.
