"You're supposed to actually read the recipe, M!" I laugh as Kai spits out the cookies.

Last night after we took a shower, he promised that we would have the best day today. I have no idea why, but it's probably because of what his phone call was about. He thinks I don't remember, but I don't forget easily.

This morning, he made me breakfast, and he tried to fuck me on the counter, but I stopped him. He was very worked up after that.

I like to tease him- it's fun.

We had just had lunch, and he said he wanted to make me something sweet. He then proceeded to try and make cookies, but he put way too much salt.

If there was such a thing as sodium poisoning, I would have it.

"It said two cups of salt!" Kai argues. I slap my hands to my face.

"Sometimes, I wonder if you're just stupid." I sigh.

"I am not stupid." Kai mumbles.

"Malachai, baby, the recipe either said two cups of sugar or it said two teaspoons of salt." I correct. He extends his arms to me, pulling me against him and immediately placing his hands on my ass.

"I'll make you more in a little bit." He whispers.

"That's not what I want." I reply quietly.

"Then what do you want?" Kai asks with hesitation and a smirk on his face. I run my fingers up his chest.

"I want you to tell me what that phone call was about yesterday." I whisper. The smirk leaves his face.

"I don't want to ruin your mood." He states. I push his hands off of me and take a step back from him.

"Yeah, you said that yesterday." I mumble.

"I know that you're upset, but I just didn't want to ruin what we had going on." Kai admits.

"You just did." I reply, picking up the cookie sheet and tossing the failed cookies in the trash.

"Elle, c'mon, don't be like that." Kai states.

"I just asked you a question, Kai. Why are you having so much trouble answering it?" I ask.

"You want to know so bad?" He asks.

"Yeah, I do actually." I reply.

"Bonnie left town," Kai states. "And she left a goodbye letter for everyone except you. So I'm sorry if I wanted to withhold that information for a little while."

Wow.

You find out your sister is in love with your husband and she leaves town without a goodbye.

"You could've told me sooner." My voice breaks. Kai immediately walks towards me and envelops me in his arms, hugging me tightly.

"I'm sorry. There's no excuse for it." He whispers against the side of my head. I let out a sigh before I pull away from the hug.

"Do you know where she went?" I ask. Kai shakes his head.

"She just left little envelopes with everyone's name on them," He replies. "Damon said she left one for me, but I haven't picked it up yet. I don't think I want to."

"If you're doing that for my sake, don't. You should open it." I state.

"I really don't want to, Noelle. Mostly for your sake, yes, but for mine, too. Who knows what she wrote in that letter." He rolls his eyes, annoyed as he speaks.
